What I would like to see TTG make the most

edited March 2011 in General Chat
I think a series that fits TTG to be made into a game series very well would be Doctor Who. I know BBC is open to Doctor Who games, so it wouldn't be too difficult for TTG to get permission, as well as the huge fanbase that comes with it would love to see this.

Anyways, just throwing this out there as a Telltale Games and Doctor Who fan :D

Unlikely since there is already a Doctor Who episodic adventure game

Those games are only available to residents of the UK, and from what I hear, are pretty bad
  • edited February 2011
They're not bad, just... not that great. I really need to get round to writing that review of them one of these days.
  • edited February 2011
I snagged the first one when I was in London. It's not particularly great, and didn't really endear me to get the others.

    NO. That is all.

It's kind of hard to know where to begin with this post. I mean do you know the respective histories of LucasArts and Telltale? Do you know that Star Wars almost killed the adventure game genre or is your post an ironic joke?

I got this link from a friend of mine and that's kind the way i feel about TT. Although, meanwhile, i'm not sure if they really have all the talent i always expected them to have. Maybe they've done their best all those years and just can't do any better. Who knows, i'm not sure if it even matters as what counts are the results and they just aren't as good as they could be. So no matter which licence they are doing, i would wish for a quality point&click (on classic devices) adventure, best sf but in the end i take everything which makes usage of my brain and where everything comes together nicely.

How about these sick ideas I just came up with?

    Street Sharks: The Adventure Game
    or
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Adventure Game

    Wow, right!?

What is so wrong with the idea of a Star Wars adventure game?
  • edited February 2011
I see no reason why a Star Wars adventure game can't work, if it were to be done right. The Star Wars universe is huge and so diverse; there are so many different races, types of characters and locations - there are hundreds of opportunities to make a good SW adventure game.
    NO. That is all.

"That is all" is an inappropriate way to end such a statement. Give a reason why.

Absolutely! I would play this in a heartbeat, I love Poirot. David Suchet would have to voice it though.

I think what I'd most like to see at this point is a Maniac Mansion/DOTT sequel. But non-LucasArts wise, I can think of a few things that would be neat. If Puzzle Agent hadn't been released, Twin Peaks might be cool, but that's kind of covered. I'm not sure if people have seen the cartoon Adventure Time, but that might make a cool game. Love to see a Zork continuation, or maybe something from the Kyrandia series. Or maybe Farscape! Lots of cool IP out there.

I would like to see a modern Star Trek adventure game along the lines of Star Trek 25th anniversary and judgment rights. These are episodic games that I think would translate very well to the telltale game design philosophy.

I would really really like that as well.

They soooooooooo should do a Labyrinth game, from the 1986 Jim Henson movie, that would rock my world.

Oh yes, although beeing another licence game, a well done Star Trek adventure (Kirk, Spock, ...) could be a lot of fun.

Zak McKracken. There's an insane world and humor that deserves a return.

Am I the only one that thinks that Metalocalypse would translate into an adventure game really well?

I think any Adult Swin show could translate well into an adventure game. I would like to see TellTale do a Aqua Teen Hunger Force one. I can see it being somewhere along the lines of Puzzle Agent.

Wasn't there a Harvey Birdman game that was kinda like something TellTale would do?

Ooh, that sounds interesting. I played through a bit of 25th Anniversary years and years ago and liked it.

Red Dwarf. I'm sure that TTG could actually make this happen as I'm almost positive that Doug Naylor and the cast would support this and allow it to happen.

Otherwise, the usual suspects such as Maniac Mansion or a new Monkey Island.

Or how about... oh I don't know, a original concept from TTG?

I haven't played it, but there is a Harvey Birdman game for the Wii. I believe it's supposed to be similar to the Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney games, but I haven't played it.

Edit: Oh and while we're just throwing random franchises we like out there, The Mighty Boosh!

I personally would love to play a Red Dwarf game... but I've said in another thread that I do not think it would sell all that well in the states.

I might just be saying this cause they're doing a Jurassic Park game but I think TellTale would make an awesome Dinotopia game.

I think The Sandman Mystery Theatre could be an awesome adventure game. The pulp film-noir setting, the gas mask wearing man of mystery protagonist. This is the recipe for an awesome detective game.

I would like to see them make a Star Trek game either based off the Original, or TNG, or I'm even open to a new cast of characters just set in that universe and maybe have guest stars from any of the series. I think that would be awesome. I would also like to see Star Trek 25th Anniversary to be remade as well as Judgment Rites.

Star Wars might not be the best choice for an adventure game, especially since every puzzle could be solved by using the force or blowing it up.

Unless R2-D2 was the main character. Then we might be onto something.

A game based on the old Star Wars Droids cartoon would be fun. R2-D2 and C-3PO are probably the best suited SW characters for an adventure game spin-off.

A Star Wars adventure game could absolutely work. But it would have to be without overpowered Jedis to be any interesting.

I would buy that game in a heartbeat.
