Can the free version of Ep 1 be linked to Steam?

More out of curiosity,but is it possible to link up the free version of BTTF EP1 with steam? I got a Serial Number, but that doesn't seem to be accepted by steam. help?

You can add it as a non-Steam game but that's it.
