The World of Gabriel Knight

So... Theories? Guesses? Inside knowledge?

What could this project be?

The Activision Wondershop™ helping Adventure Games "Rise from the Ashes" perhaps?

I have been sworn to secrecy by this silver-lined studio and that OTHER Queen of Adventure gaming that I'd keep my trap shut else I may end up a howling, blood-sucking voodoo doll tomorrow. I guess we'll see Sierra™ fans. ;) Start "WISHING" hard!

This is, or at least appears to be, a graphic novel set in... the world of Gabriel Knight. The various bits of text spell this out.

A return to Gabriel Knight would be nice. We've had too many 'comedy' games as of late, a good adult-oriented one would be a welcome break. Of course, anything Gabriel Knight related would be nice as well. I'd love to know what happened after GK3.

Not necessarily. Please note "...venture from the studio that brought you King's Quest IX: The Silver Lining" bit. Hopefully, the graphic novel is a sister project to a new game. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Possibly it's Pocketful of Roses? That would relate (though with slightly altered lyrics) to this children's rhyme.

Wow! It's about time too. I can't wait to delve back into the world of Gabriel Knight whatever the media, although I do really hope it turns out to be an actual game. Also, Jane Jensen had better be involved or this won't count as canon. Whatever the case, this is exciting.

EDIT: The quote from Eriq Chang mentions a Queen of adventure gaming. Looks like Jane Jensen is indeed onboard. Yeeesssssss!!!

Minor minor detail "from the studio that brought (...) IX: The Silver Lining" is wrong.

Phoenix Online Studios can't call their fan licensed game "King's Quest IX" or Activision will throw some magma at them.

Well, left hand and right hand and all that... and even if Activision suddenly did want to allow Phoenix Online to call it King's Quest IX, the license agreement with Telltale might make it trickier (but not impossible, seeing as Activision do own the IP).

I assume the Activision logo isn't just there for decoration, after all... assuming this isn't just wishful thinking or crossed wires.

As I said, a minor observation on some mock up art ;)

Indeed. I wonder if this is meant for somewhere like vgboxart.com maybe - not real, not official etc., just a bit of playful fun.

It was just a mock-up. Nothing to do with Jane Jensen, Activision or AGDI/Himalaya.

Damn it! I really thought this was for real.

*Goes back to waiting another decade for news of a new GK game*

Indeed, looks like Eriq had to delete it too.
