Will a SDK ever be made?

I would fancy a SDK for Telltale! Imagine making your own Sam And Max with it! Or even your own type of series like game. Is there ever gonna be an SDK?

There was talk of a public version of the Telltale Tool a long time ago, but nothing ever came of it.

It's something that's been talked about on and off over the years, but its never fully materialized as a project. It's definitely something we'd like to do eventually, someday. The amount of work to do it right means it would have to be a pretty formidable undertaking, though. We're proud of the Telltale Tool and I love using it to make games, but I wouldn't want to wish it on an unsuspecting public without a fair bit of polish, documentation, tutorials, etc. That said, I think homebrew adventure game fans would absolutely love it if we ever released it. You can make a 3D adventure with the basic mechanics of a SCUMM-era game (inventory, dialog, puzzle logic) without touching code at this point.

Now see, to me that sounds very attractive. As someone who'd love to tinker with ideas and see what sort of thing I could do.

Even it were just a mish-mash that we'd have to be in the dark about how to use and stumble about it'd be something to play with and to discuss and see how everyone's getting on with the new toy and help each and hopefully create together.

I imagine with a pile of assets thrown in with us to muck about with, results would come in fast and things would be very exciting indeed in Telltale land

If/When the Telltale Tool does go public, do you think there's a chance of having a "Machinima Mode"? It seems pretty useful for animation.

Without even touching code!? That sounds ludicrous !
