The Up Coming Movie Thread
Edit: This thread is meant for upcoming movies that you want to talk about, I figured a thread solely dedicated to this could bring up some interesting conversations. Also, it's more appropriate than say 100 separate threads. Here is the time and place for up coming movies.
I wanted to comment on a up coming movie called :
The Beaver, starring Mel Gibson, and Jodie Foster.

Finally, my thoughts on this up coming movie.
Honestly, the trailer surprised me. This looks like it will try to be funny, try to be serious, and have a deep meaning to it that a lot of people will hate it for because they think it's essentially just a comedy ...
I give it more credit than that, as people are ignorant and poke fun of mental illnesses, commonly. This movie clearly has a mental illness and depicted by the trailer, it appears that it unfolds in a real way, and when things get realistic there's usually a conceptional realistic theme, message.
Even with the trailer...I've seen a lot of shallow, narrowly observed, flat comments. Comments, such as, what a hoot! Jim Carey would be better for this...
*sighs*, followed by *heavy sigh*...
I don't think that this is essentially meant to be a comedy. Perhaps it was intended to be misread, misunderstood at the get go, to draw people into the experience, though. As of right now, I don't think a lot of people are getting it...

I actually have faith that 'On Stranger Tides' won't be just a cash cow or an uninspired effort to try and mirror what the original three were. What I've heard from those involved, and what I've seen in the trailer has all been quite positive. Also, the fact that a further two installments are planned after this one would indicate that they probably have a significant number of original ideas up their sleeves. So I have confidence in 'OST'; I just hope I'm not let down.

I'm with you on this.
Well, I suppose I'm also really looking forward to Sherlock Holmes 2. Though, that's much, much later this year.
Wait, there's a second one in production? That great! I really liked the first one, even if it was somewhat flawed, it was still a fun ride.

Another film I've got my eye on is Cowboys vs. Aliens (trailer). It could be terrible or it could be awesome, we'll just have to wait and see.
My most anticipated movie for this year is Ra.One
Because they're bringing the superhero genre to Bollywood! *_*
Also, Don 2 I think will be next year, and Shahrukh Khan and Leonardo DiCaprio are supposed to be starring in a film called Xtreme City next year.
And as for Hollywood movies, I'm also looking forward to Super 8, Cars 2, Puss In Boots and I guess others will come...
Has anyone heard of Love? Looks awesome.
Pinch me. Pinch me. Pinch me.
I must be dreaming...
Don't bother with Rango, it's absolutely awful Black Swan's one of my favourite films though
I don't know, as soon as I heard it had a Hunter S. Thompson and Dr. Gonzo cameo I knew I had to see it.
Also Bill Nighy as one damn scary rattlesnake.
That movie looks like a case of terrific actors in a terrible movie. I'd say it could just be me, but you four are the first I've heard of who didn't think the premise was utterly ridiculous.
But hey, at least it's not a remake or sequel.
Thor, Avengers, Captain America are movies I am looking forward to but fear they will suck.
You may be right. Part of it could be that I dislike westerns in general, so an alien movie set in the old west doesn't hold much appeal for me.
Also, I'm sure that the crap title doesn't do much for a lot of people. Sometimes a movie's title can make all the difference in whether or not people will see it.
I absolutely adore Johnny Depp but it still couldn't save the film for me. Out of all the voice actors though, Bill Nighy definetely did the best job
It's a fantastic title, it tells you everything you need to know. This is a film in which cowboys will fight aliens. Just by hearing the title a person will know if it is going to be their kind of film or not.
You have to know this film is not going to take itself too seriously and that has an appeal to a lot of people.
First of all, I couldn't agree more with Dashing and Woodsyblue.
The title is awesome. I mean, what would you rather they called it? A Fistful of Saucers? The Good, The Bad, and the Spaceman? The title is part of the reason I'm watching this. Cowboys versus aliens is a concept that greatly appeals to me, like the idea of pirates versus zombies or Ash versus Freddy versus Jason (too bad that comic sucked hairy monkey spit). One of my favorite movies of all time is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, the sort of concept you'd think you'd only see in bad fanfiction or in a comic book. That's what I love about films like that. They take a cheesy pulp concept and aren't afraid to make it a reality. The idea of one of the greatest comedy teams of all time facing off against Universals monsters is extremely cool, and the idea of Daniel Craig (Bond) and Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) and Sam Rockwell (Sam Rockwell), three of the coolest actors for me in this age, as cowboys facing off against aliens in a movie directed by Jon Favreau, a director I love so far, is beyond awesome. This is the sort of film I wish Hollywood would allow more of. It's good cheesy fun, and if it manages to be more than that, then good, but it certainly won't be any less.
And anyway, right now I've got Green Lantern and Harry Potter to look forward to. I think I can squeeze in another this summer.
Wait, Pirates 4 comes out in May? Great, now I either have to convince my friend who wasn't sold on the sequels to go see it, or I have to manage to drag my family who rarely even go to movies they say they want to go see.
I'm also interested in the superhero movies, but I'll wait until they come to Redbox, Blockuster Express, or Netflix.
I'm also slightly interested in Cars 2, since I did like the first one (it's not my favorite Pixar movie, and I thought it felt too much like a Dreamworks style movie with all of the puns and pop culture references, but I'm a big Doc Hollywood fan, so that helped ), but I'm not sure about the premise.
Cowboys and Aliens - The trailer is really good, and it makes you really interested to see who is the guy with that thing on his wrist that can't remember anything.
Thor - Looks like it could be fun, the trailer sure got me convinced.
The Green Lantern - Ryan Reynolds (What? I am a girl you know.) And at the same time, I want to see him play a more serious role.
Captain America - Could be fun, the trailer although short showed some nice things to look forward to.
Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides - Just pure fun, the trailer had me sold the moment I was done watching it. Johnny Depp back as Jack Sparrow, what's not to look forward to.
Rango - Again, Johnny Depp as the main voice here, I like anything he is in.
B movies can be a lot of fun, don't be fooled or mistaken, even at the time, a majority of them were meant to be strange plots, almost ridiculous, shockingly obscure movies...
Wolf man vs. Dracula , etc etc...
Movies are allowed to be fun at the very least, and I honestly think this movie will surprise quite a few people going into it with those minimal expectations...
As for Pirates 4, well...I personally, got bored of the character in the third movie and thought it was immense over exposure and I was drowned in the LONNNNNG action scenes which didn't really hold my excitement/ interest. Too much eye candy, and craziness, not enough suspense and character drama (acting)...Well, the scenes where Jack, makes faces on a island for like a hour, and multiple Jacks shows up, but that was painful...rather see action in action scenes or something. The first one is my favorite, more acting, more substance, less (FORCED epicness)...Another movie...not really interested, especially because it's a 3D experience..."See Jack make goofy faces in 3D!"
I think Sucker Punch is another good example of a fun movie, that might have a few surprises in the experience.
Thor, looks kind of generic to me. But, it has Natalie Portman in it and she doesn't do garbage. Nothing as original, fun, obscure as a cowboys and aliens movie...
I don't have anything against Hollywood returning to creative, obscure, even if ridiculous movie plots as long as one type of film, production doesn't demonstrate the over all intellectual disciplines, fundamentals of story telling in Hollywood. Citizen Kane always had its day...so did The Wolf man (which is a CLASSIC better than Citizen Kane)
Ha, secret Fawful, I think we think alike.
Perhaps, on some things. I think I have a lot in common with everybody; it's what makes me so accessible.
I don't want to see Star Wars in 3D. I will, however, go to see the original trilogy plus the Indiana Jones films in theaters.
Maybe you're just afraid what the experience might do to you while you're in the theater and some one will notice and everyone will begin to laugh.
Star Wars was amazing SFX when it came out, apparently. What could be cooler than to try to bring the SFX back into the new wave of technology. It will give a theater experience similar to the original, at best anyways...
Pay more than once to see that piece of shit?
No thanks.
Pay extra?
You're out of your fucking mind.
