So, is anyone planning on going to Dragon*Con?

edited August 2011 in General Chat
I'm planning the trip now and it would be wonderful if I knew I could meet up with someone that I am at least semi-familiar with. I am also looking for someone to go halves on my room with me. It is a two queen-size bed room only 1.7 miles from the convention sites.

I'm probably going because it's down the street from where I live. Comrade Pants has his ticket to the convention already, and I think he's reserved his room as well.

I'm pretty sure I'm going too.

Is anyone cosplaying? I don't want this to derail the topic, but would love to know this as well as if people are going.
  • edited March 2011
I... *might*. Though I don't think so due to lack of moneys.

I applied to appear as a guest. Got rejected. =/

    Not sure if I'll go.

I'm going. I've gone every year since 2007. It will be good to see fellow Telltale Forumers there! I'm even working on a Battlestar Galactica cosplay.

so would anyone be up for a roomshare? I'm currently looking up hotels.
  • edited March 2011
Staying in my dorm, and already have any potential guest spot filled.

If my roomate drops out, I'll consider it. I'm in one of the host hotels! Lucky me!
  • edited March 2011
I just booked the hotel and flight, so willing to share.

    So are you cosplaying?
  • edited March 2011
No, I'm not talented at all at sewing. I would consider modeling a yajerobe or silent bob costume as I'm a larger guy.

The Dude. Go as the Dude. From the Big Lebowski? DO EET.

    Look at bumpy go.

So noone that is going needs to save money by sharing a room? wow, wish I was so rich that I couldn't use money to save.
  • edited March 2011
Most people who get rooms have probably already got roomates. That's what I do whenever I get hotel rooms - either stay with my brother or with friends.
  • edited March 2011
Still looking for a roommate guys. if you don't have a room yet and are willing to split the bill, I'm open to it.
  • edited March 2011
Sorry bro, already staying with someone else as is :(. Good luck on your search. Maybe try the Dragon*con forums?
  • edited March 2011
That would be a great idea if the friggin forums would go ahead and validate me already...
  • edited March 2011
I might go, then again I probably won't know for sure until they run out of tickets >.>
Would like to go and meet up with Rather Dashing and Comrade Pants though (and others who can make it).

They typically have a fuckton of tickets at the door, but the line for those is horribad long. Just meet up with me and we can use my wheelchair to let you skip the line.
  • edited March 2011
Oh sure, but I have to wait in line like everybody else, right?

You've got legs. You're also a man. Do the math.

But seriously, show up in time and you can get in on taking advantage of my tragic disability. Fun for the whole Telltale family!

Yay! Using other people's disabilities to your advantage is fun!

Ok, so it is the con that I was thinking of. That is pretty far away, both spacially and temporally. I literally have no idea what I'll be doing in September, since I'm graduating in May and have no idea what'll happen after that. Scary times. Traveling aimlessly doesn't seem like a likely option but I will consider going to this since I do have a friend in that region who has tried to talk me into going the past couple years.

Do it! I'd love to have as many Telltalers as possible show up. Maybe we could have a Telltale meetup or something. Oh, this is good. This is very, very good.

My experience with cons tend to be that lines are bad for pick up or buying so either way you're going to wait a while. Can't be as bad that one con on the east coast that had wait lines of 10 hours.

The first year I went, before I knew I could take advantage of being a cripple; a waited in line like all the leggies. Took me seven frakking hours. Every year since, I've decided to gather all my friends before entry, declare them as my assistants, and just push my way through. I fukkin love taking advantage of my handicap! :D

I know that a lot of cosplayers who go to Dragon*con like to pull out their most scantily clad outfits for dragon*con because it's one of the few places that allows it.

It's part of what makes it the best thing ever. Well, until you meet a 300 pound Slave Leia. Oh, or man Faye. MY EYES

The thing is I live about an hour away from Atlanta and I haven't decided if I'm going at all since it cost alot for the ticket the last time I went and I totally got lost...and totally bored..
