But what about the *drama music* PAINTING.. *even more drama music*

Seriously. When you finally see doc (or sort of doc) in Episode 3: Citizin Brown, you'll see a painting of him and his father. To me his father looks like an alien robot thing. Well, at least not human.

For real, I mean wtf.

I just sthink they don't want to show his face (maybe yet) and the glowing "eyeballs" are an indication that he wears glasses. He just should look intimidating.

    Intimidating alright.

Firstly, I'd like to say that I love the name you chose to the save the picture.

Secondly, as others have mentioned, the glowing eyes are simply an indication that he wears glasses and the reason he's kept in the shadows is to provoke a sense of curiousity as to what he actually looks like. You only hear him in Episode One and I think everyone got their own mental picture as to what he looked like.

Especially in the picture, you can really feel his sense of authority and control over young Emmett. But what I think is especially chilling is the fact that in one hand he has a pocketwatch and in the other, the shoulder of Emmett. It feels as though he's physically keeping 'time' and Emmett separated. It's like he represents the wall standing between Emmett and his invention of time travel. This is, of course, a rather abstract idea and probably not what they intended but it's certainly interesting to think about.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the episodes never reveal his face. The mystery of what he looks like is something that should be left to the imagination of the viewers.

If in an alternate time-line Emmet's father was a scientist, He would totally be Professor Membrane!

Well said. Though I find the painting a little over the top, it doesn't bother me in any way.

It doesn't bother me either; if anything, it's just bizarre.

Like anything isn't bizarre in that timeline? I mean, really, science fiction, Dungeons & Dragons, and video games banned? WTF?

Actually I don't think the artist drew in a face. (nose/mouth) Though I'm not sure, someone needs to edit the picture and so make it so bright that we could see the face. I would but I don't know how...

Obviously, he is a Black Mage, who took of his pointy hat:

(But on the other Hand I just finished Final Fantasy 9, so that's probably where that association comes from)

Love the title! I automatically read it like Calculon from Futurama would haha

When I saw the painting the first thing coming into my mind was this:

Hello! Anybody home? Think McFly, think! Drugs are allowed in this thread.
Not because drugs are easy to accept, but because they are hard to test. :D

But for real, it is Chris himself! Epic win!

I have to go with this. As far as I'm concerned, Doc's father is literally Winslow. The voice seals the deal.
