Can in game walkthrough be turned off?

Hi i read some posts here that mentioned turning off the hints, I bought this game on steam and all I have seems to be a hint level setting, when I start the game fully a quarter of the screen is a large box with like a step by step walkthrough. This makes it completely unrewarding / no fun at all to look around the environments, "Have you looked at the model of the city?" Seriously? I set the hint level low as i could and still the walkthrough is as huge and intrusive as ever.

    Sadly, that particular box is mandatory for that puzzle, and is separate from the hint system and goal displays.

    My bad - i read a few more posts and found that the walkthrough is only in effect for the first scene. I would have seriously had trouble sticking to this game, even starting it up again at all without that information.
