    Nice!

...Would hoping for a retail 360 version of TDP be too unrealistic? I already have it (twice) for PC, but I still want it >.>

Great. I hope that means that Jurassic Park will be on XBLA from the very beginning, because that would mean that it will be multilanguage from the very beginning, just like Wallace & Gromit!!

I'd like to see a "Sam and Max Ultimate Collection" for both the PS3 and 360 (and the Wii, if it can be ported properly). All three seasons, one disc.

It'd make for a good 25th anniversary present.

I dont think the wii could pull that off sadly.

I'll copy-paste what I said in the comments section when Kotaku posted this.

Really, the best thing for Telltale could do would be implement the Playstation Move controller in their PS3 games, which I suspect would pretty much double sales.

The Wii controls were/are the best thing about those particular versions, and the Move would be practically identical. Hell, it'd probably convince me to buy them all a third goddamn time. (Not even kidding there. I actually wish I was.)

360 ports are all well and good, but I want to be able to play without having to fight the controls, which is what playing with a standard controller feels like.

So serious about owning games twice! I actually own SBCG4AP three times - PC, PS3 and Wii - and the first two series of Sam & Max, along with ToMI, twice on the PC (Steam and here). If they implemented Move controls on the PS3 versions of S&M, ToMI and BttF, I'd definitely buy them for the system as well.

The Move/Wii Remote would be good for the old, pre-Wallace and Gromit control scheme (moving by clicking on the area you want to walk to), but not for Telltale's new, more console-friendly control scheme (moving by dragging the mouse in the direction you want to go, using WASD, or a control stick if you're playing on a console). And given how the PS3 version of Strong Bad was changed to use the new control scheme, it's unlikely Telltale will go back to the old one anytime soon, especially if they're going to be doing more console releases than before.

Wait, does this mean Telltale games will be exclusive to Xbox 360 or just that Telltale is putting games on the 360 as well?
  • edited April 2011
Cool! More ports means less whining from whiny fans! Though I hope that certain ports (that can work) will be coming to Wii as well...

It means that we're ALSO releasing games on the Xbox 360! :) All this agreement means is that now more fans that have been wanting to play our games, can.

So what all previous titles are being ported?
SBCG4AP? If so then its the first of your games to be ported on all 3 systems, and PC/Mac. Same with Tales.

They haven't confirmed any games, but I'm going to guess The Devil's Playhouse and/or Back to the Future since they've been the most demanded.

I have to wonder whether Strong Bad or Tales will get the honor of being Telltale's first episodic series on all three consoles, though.

    Telltale,

This is great news! Though I have a Mac (and a PS3 for that matter), I'm primarily an Xbox360 gamer, and I'm thrilled to hear that your games will be coming to that platform.

By the way, if anyone higher up is listening, I'd gladly put my money down for Xbox versions of Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, Tales of Monkey Island, and Strong Bad's CG4AP. You know, just as some incentive to make those ports...: :

    And thanks for the games!

I'm sorry, but you seem to have completely missed the point I was trying to make.

Tales of Monkey Island on the Wii had the same 'modern' controls you say would be a bad idea, and it's the best control system of any Telltale game I've played. Using the Nunchuck to move the character and the Wiimote to point-and-click was very smooth and worked better than the mouse/keyboard or control pad scheme.

That's what I mean when I say Telltale should implement the PSMove in their games. Especially with the modern games which have the exact same movement system as ToMI and would control just as well.

Also if any of the Telltale crew are reading this (and there's always the remote possibility, given Mr Johnson's earlier appearance), would it be all that much work to patch the controls in? I'm sure Sony would welcome any additional developers using the Move, since there aren't all that many as is!

    Ah, sweet, sweet confirmation.

When they say "every platform", though, does that include the Wii too?

    I concur

Without causing another flame war, is there any news on the future of TellTale's Xbox publishing that was announced a few weeks ago? Do we know anything yet? I've had a good look through the forums and can't find anything :(

    Nope

Nothing official, no...but look enough and you'll find countless speculation and junior geniuses.

I wouldn't expect Poker Night or Puzzle Agent as they are smaller games and less recognized then full seasons I'm afraid, however if Telltale decides to port older seasons to Xbox than it would be reasonable to expect Monkey Island.

As their new stature as "publisher", I would think, as long as it's profitable and worth their while, TTG could port or publish anything, right? even something developed by another company? Am I right?
I do hope Puzzle Agent gets an appearance on the xbox, even if it's just as a bonus to a retail release, or as a downloadable indie game, or something.
And TOMI, well they've said they've always intended it to go on the xbox, to match up with the other two MI games already present on the xbox :D

    Dear Telltale,

Five months ago now we heard of a publishing agreement with Microsoft to release more games on Xbox 360. I know that I got really excited at the prospect of playing all of Telltale's releases on Xbox, but since that initial announcement, we've pretty much been in the dark in regards to future Xbox releases, other than the announced release of Jurassic Park in November.

I think alot of us want to know, when (or if, but please when) can we expect to see other great Telltale games released on Xbox? I know I desperately want to play Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, Tales of Monkey Island, and Strong Bad's CG4AP on my Xbox. I'm sure others are clamoring for new releases like Back to the Future and Hector.

I have to imagine that the cost of porting and publishing games on Xbox would be less than revenues generated by sales on a new platform, between demand from diehard Telltale fans and achievement hounds alike.

So Telltale, please give us some sort of update on when we might be able to expect more 360 games, and gamers, post here if you support more Xbox releases!

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse and Tales of Monkey Island will not be able to go on Xbox Live Arcade, they would have to be a retail release, Microsoft's content policy gives them the right to automatically blacklist any content that was "Exclusive to Other Platforms". It's a bully tactic, but Microsoft are pretty much saying "if you don't go exclusive with us, we don't want to know!", since Tales was on Wii first and eventually on PS3, and Sam & Max was PS3 exclusive (only in regards to the consoles), Microsoft are not interested in those games appearing on their service.

Bummer, although I would welcome a retail release. You would think that Microsoft would be agreeable to having these older games released on Xbox, as it would ultimately generate more money, but what do I know.
