Yiro & Yari episode 1

Hey all

Back in late 2008 and early 2009 I was developing an adventure game which I wanted to try and make something of quality and that could be commercial.

But we had terrible family problems and my wife and I had to relinquish our home and soon after we lost our jobs so we went into building ourselves a new home and trying to make a living, so it's been two very hard years for us.
In that time we have changed our focus on our style and what we do and no longer feel the same drive to complete this game as it was meant to be.

But I just didn't want to throw everything away and decided i should show most of what was created.

The game might have its bugs but is completable, it might have tons of grammar mistakes since i never had the time to fully check on that, and the GUI doesn’t have the final images in most parts.

The initial video is just to show what i was going after but it isn’t complete at all besides the animations aren't even polished.

Anyway you can check it out on the blog (the download link for the game is in the blog -105mb zip file through megaupload)

Any comments are welcome

    Hi!
May I suggest adding some screenshots from the game to your website, or maybe this post right here? I mean, I think it would help get people interested. :)

Hey, congrats on getting this far with it!

I'll definitely give this a go and let you know how it holds up.

Just completed it. I liked :) A couple of moments I laughed out loud on (particularly
watching the goo slowly pour into the cup
    )
The puzzles were a bit straightforward but I guess that's cos it was just getting started. I would be glad to tidy up some of the English if you want. Sometimes it reads a bit like you used a translation service ("infraworld" and "dump room") but still a lovely little game. Thanks for uploading :D

Ah man, you beat me to it offering to help with the grammar! I wanna do it! :p

But yeah, this is a really nice little game. It seems a shame it never got any further than it did, but that's how life goes sometimes. The puzzles seemed fine to me, but then I like games I can finish without needing too many hints, so...

I definitely get a very Max-ish vibe from the main character(s), but that's probably the design of it/them more than anything else. Everything else seemed pretty nice too, though a few sound effects wouldn't have been unwanted!

It seems an extremely well-designed game, and I'd love if you could somehow get back to working on it, although I understand that might not be possible. I appreciate you uploading what you had though, you'd be surprised how many don't even do that.

Posted a view of the main scene as it was originally created and the final one in the page.
    ...

Yeah, I had the idea of adding some screenshots but didn’t occur to me of adding them at the same time hehe, but i just added a few to this post and to the main page.
    ...

    Thank you!
LOL! yeah my english isn't quite the best, i did have in mind sending the text file to someone for correcting and improving.

I wouldn’t mind people checking the text file though.
    ...

    Thank you!
Unfortunately i didn’t have time to add sounds, couldn’t get to that part of the process (lol)

I just noticed the "Limbo of the Lost" poster in the first screenshot. Nice reference to that farcical game.
