Sam & Max Season Retail DVD - Crash
Hi, I have a Season 1 JoWood DVD which always crashes when I attempt to start any of the Season 1 episodes.
I'm running Win7 64bit SP1 with an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro - all drivers and OS patches are already up-to-date. Yes it's an old GPU but it works fine for "undemanding" games. The retail S&M Season 2 Atari DVD works perfectly.
Symptoms on Running Season 1:
1. UAC pop-up. Clicking OK removes it.
2. Spinning disk mouse pointer appears.
3. Windows error pop-up appears.
"SamMax101.exe has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online."
"Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: SamMax101.exe"
... etc.
Troubleshooting (so far):
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled in a new folder. Crashes.
2. Exempted the folder from av scanning. Still crashes.
3. Installed the TAC patch from thread #3199. Still crashes.
4. Uninstalled and replaced with free download S&M Ep104. Works fine.
5. Uninstalled Ep104 and replaced with Season 1 from DVD. Crashes.
A resolution would be very much appreciated.

...or should I just give up, trash the Season 1 Retail DVD and buy Season 1 again online, instead?
