Console and Game Collections (Pictures)
Inspired by something said in the E3 thread. Still hanging onto your consoles? What kind of a collection do you have? Post pics!
My old consoles:
(PSX, NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, Saturn, GameCube (w/GBPlayer), and Color Computer 3)
My newer consoles, hooked up to my LCD TV:
Where I keep my games:
I'm missing Metroid Prime 3, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Twilight Princess from this pic because my brother borrowed them.
I also can't go without showing off my Zelda collection. Only game missing is Spirit Tracks. I hope soon to add it and Skyward Sword to the collection in the near future:
Minish Cap is also missing from this picture because I had lost it but I've since reacquired it. Oh yeah, and Link's Crossbow Training...but....meh.

Here they are, the whole lot of them!
Well, here goes nothing. Fair warning, the full versions are pretty decent sized.
First off, here's a look at where I keep most of my boxes.
Now, let's start showing it off properly. I'll start with my console boxes.
Then we've got Wii controllers. I forgot to get one of my Japanese black Wii Remote box.
Now a few assorted boxes.
And my portables.
Now for the good stuff. To start, here's my console collection in its current state (aside from the posters I moved from in front of it).
And closer images of those top two shelves on the right side, featuring many Official Nintendo Player's Guides (including the original 80s NES one) and last year's Club Nintendo platinum award. Unfortunately, I won't have enough coins for this year, so it's another calendar for me.
My Wii, GameCube, and Genesis games. The slipcover for Metroid Prime Trilogy is on a blank case containing Wii Sports and its envelope, and the duplicate Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition was the victim of a stolen disc and now contains Link's Crossbow Training.
My two drawers full of game stuff and the ottoman at the foot of my bed.
My portable systems and some of the crazier accessories that go with them. The dark purple Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance are my sister's, as well as the blue GBA SP.
You'll notice that I have an original DS box and a DS Lite. I cracked my original DS's top screen a while back, and when I sent it for repairs, they didn't have the parts for it, so they sent me back a DS Lite. The wrist strap on my Lite and the box are all I have left of my original DS. I'd like to get one to replace it someday.
And lastly, my DS games.
And that's just the stuff I photographed.
Edit: In the spirit of Paper Mario 3DS being shown at E3, here's one of my old convention costumes.
By the way, that DS game on the very bottom, on the left, is Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten, a DS kanji dictionary I imported from Japan when I took Japanese. It's awesome and would've been a sound investment if I hadn't taken Japanese at the same time as a programming class, failed Japanese, and never had the chance to take it again, but oh well.
Plus I don't have a nice camera handy...
EDIT: Seriously, I have a collecting problem.
I have a habbit of buying and keeping games now. Especially retro ones.
One day I bought a Snes, then I just kept adding and adding to it.
(Until I was satisfied, which I only just barely am! (I REALLY WANT MEGAMAN X!!))
For example... here's most of the Gamecube/Wii games that I own. (There's multiple games in each box, BTW. Also, they all have custom covers, because of my OCD. You can see the new style mixed in with the old one - the newer ones have plain text on the spines, the older ones have 'logos')
There's about the same number of PS2 games, and then there's my PC collection... woof.
But, everything I've seen so far doesn't hold a candle to the amount of video game stuff we have.

I also have a few things on Direct2Drive as well, but its fairly negligable.
I got gameboy games, gameboy color games, gameboy advanced, DS and 3DS games as well.
A few Wii games (got bored of the console) and a few gamecube games as well.
I don't really want to list those.
AND NO! I AM NOT DOING PICTURES!!!
EDIT: Oh and I got Dreamcast and N64 games as well. But I am exhausted from listing all this so I won't list them, though I will note that I do have Pokemon Stadium 1+2 and Snap, and the most interesting Dreamcast game I have is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (and Capcom vs SNK )
EDIT 2: Oh, and I have a Caanoo. Open handhelds FTW!
(doubles as my Music and Video player as I got a 16gb Micro SD for it)
EDIT 3: Oh bugger it lets list my N64 and Dreamcast stuff as well!

(Yeah, my little bro likes racing games, so we have A LOT of them on here. Fortunately most of them are SEGA arcade ports, and therefore are very good!)
EDIT 4 (haha! XD): I had a N-gage, but I lost it, but I do have a N-Gage QD with a few games.
(Its in bad condition though, and must be buried in the house somewhere, as the last person who had it was my older brother, and he never looks after my stuff properly so it usually get into a poor state. (its why I never let him borrow anything!!))
^this. Seeing all those titles side by side would be epic. You should take some pictures.
(the bolded "no pictures" text wasn't enough to deter me from asking)
Well I don't have a good camera to take pictures.
Till I get one, Here's a crudely spliced picture of my Good Old Games Shelf.
EDIT: Here's a link to my steam calculator:
http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/retrovortex
You should see my wall mounted TV.
(Its adjustable too. I can't believe my old man managed to find a HD Sony TV cheap enough. Lovely present for me and my little bro. That Tiny TV in our room was terrible. It even had broken speakers. Total Ear-rape every time you turned it on.... XD)
(Plus we got another PS3 in there, though my little bro only uses that for Blue Ray DVDs)
Oh piccy:
(Taken with rubbish 3DS camera)
EDIT: Holy shit, you have the exact same TV as I do. I have bigger speakers though.
Magic Elves.
Actually I get quite a lot of my stuff off ebay. (Thats how I got the large Xbox and Snes collection)
Spend a few pounds on each game.
I literally spend my money on nothing else.
(I don't buy clothes, and I live at home, and give occasional monies to parents for food)
I dig around for sales too. 90% of the games I buy are on sale. The Sold-out stuff can be found for silly cheap in CEX.
Plus I get Student Finance money, and since I save loads by commuting to Uni, I tend to splash out.
If you see a large man scanning the pre-owned section in your local Game, HMV or Cex, meticulously flicking through the stacks, that guy may actually be me! XD
Its funny really since I only earn around £200 a month.
(Working one day a week at Tescos)
That being said, if I had any money issues, I could sell stuff, though I would be very reluctant.
Classic games are a pretty good investment.
I could probably get most of my money back from selling my games on ebay.
EDIT: The speakers are for the PC in there...
(And no, its not a good PC either. Our best PC is a Pentium D, (which is the main computer, and thats in the kitchen))
(We would never let my little bro have a good PC either. He only ever surfs the web and watches DVD, stream video. Plus he goes on sites that even I haven't heard off. Like Korean, Japanese and Chinese sites. Its the autism, he can't help but watch old cartoons in random languages he doesn't understand. I mean he crashed his PC the other day, and it took me ages to clean it. Jokes on him though since I upped all the security. I'd like to see him get past that. He's good, but he'll never be as good as me.)
We need to get a new computer really, but bulk amount is fairly hard to get.
(Need a few months overtime, may have to dig in the loft and sell some old PC stuff my old man has collected. Its definately on the list)
EDIT: Oh, and you should see my Little bros DVD collection.
He might have switched to Blue Ray, but he has a ton of DVDs.
Tries to get as many old disney films as he can.
But its mostly old cartoons. 80s and 90s stuff. Like Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Ducktails, Heathcliff.
Yikes, my Good Old Games Shelf is, um, 2 shelves...
This is a question I often ask as well. Even spending as much as I can on games (I buy practically nothing else that isn't essential for living...well, except for books...lots of books...and school) my collection is about a hundredth of some of those here. Approximately.
A lot of it is built up over the years (e.g. I had 20 or so xbox games already, some pretty rare ones, I just decided to build on it over a coupleof years).
My NES tower
Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS2 games
Saturn, N64, and DS games
Gamecube games
PSP games and UMD movies (shut up)
Wide view of my shelves, DVDs at the top, followed by PSP, N64, DS, Saturn, PS1, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, PS2, and Genesis games
These pictures are VERY VERY old, and my collection is ENORMOUSLY larger since those were taken.
For a more comprehensive listing of everything I own, see http://old.raptr.com/SHODANFreeman (Though even this list is incomplete )
I don't. Thus, my collection has taken my entire life to build. Actually, longer than my entire life if you count the Atari.
My parents do own an Atari 2600 with over a dozen games, but they have it in storage. I loaned my NES and my 30 or so games to my cousin, but he never returned them and that was years ago so there's no telling now. Also, I traded in several SNES games when I bought my Dreamcast.
I do still have quite a number of games between PS1, PS2, GCN, GameBoy, GBA, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, Wii and PC; but it would appear that though what i have is considerable, it doesn't come close to what you guys have.
And I have done a few pictures this morning, but only of the Xbox and Xbox 360 cases, and my Snes and Megadrive carts.
(Ran out of memory on the camera. Its a pretty old one, so it doesn't have a lot of space, but the quality is bearable)
Will upload here later on. (Need older brother to move. He's hogging the main computer where the camera dock is...)
Almost missed one:
The "sierra" folder has Leisure Suit Larry 7 in it. I decided to screenie my HDD's Games folder instead of my Win7 Games Library , because the orgaization method I use for PC games is multi-tiered and would require multiple screenshots. I only have one non-bundled Wii game because I only bought the Wii last week.
---
I still have my Dreamcast, PS1, N64 and SNES (my cousin never returned my NES); my SNES is at my parents' lake condo; and my N64 and Dreamcast are stored in a crate near the TV and rarely used; my PS1 is in storage as PS2 is backward compatible.
(click to embiggen)
Your folders are so organized... I think I need to go clean up and better catalog my PC files now.
I have bought several Steam games since my last post, but I have also been adding shortcuts for most of my retail games to my Steam library.
I haven't quite finished yet, but here's what I have so far. This is List View, which I do not use. I use Detail View, and have the "Telltale" category minimized as it has so many episodes in it.... Come to think of it, as it does have so many in there, I just thought to consider splitting it up (ie. "Telltale - Sam & Max"; "Telltale - Strong Bad"; and "Telltale - Other") but I haven't decided this yet.
This is an accurate description of my music drive.
That I can see, since you possibly also still have the raw data saved from your projects before they'd been encoded, which I'm sure can take up considerable space.
Like many others, I don't bother to trade in games since you don't get much for them, and you end up regretting it later anyway.
Looks to me like that right there is a perfectly reasonable place for shelving.
