BTTF Outatime - Crash before meeting Wiliam (Spoilers)

edited June 2011 in Game Support
After Wiliam appears, and then officer parker ask doc about the delorean, then I hear a thunder in the distance, and then the game crashes, and gets back to windows.

I have already reinstalled it.

Can anyone can help me with this?
Any patch, hotfix, etc??

Thanks
JP

Try lowering your graphics settings. It's a pretty visually-intense scene, so it might be more than your computer can handle at its current graphical settings.

    Hope that helps!

I am having the same problem!

The graphic detail is set at the lowest level.
I played the four episodes, and never got this kind of crash.

    same here!

I'll try it on the lowest graphical settings.

It's just such a giant pain as you can't save beforehand and have to go through the text-heavy
Emmett - Judge Brown make-up scene
again, only to have it crash, forcing you to see play it again and again.

I had this same crash but I eventually got past it.

What I did was set it to the lowest graphic settings and lowest resolution. I enabled windowed mode and it still crashed. Then I went back into the settings, left it in windowed mode, but turned the graphics setting to like 5 or 6 bars.

This time at the point right before it would freeze, I paused the game. When I unpaused, it didn't crash and I got to finish the game.

I'm not sure if it was the pausing of the game or the settings I had it on but it finally worked. So I guess try both and see if it works for you.

    Good luck.

Thanks so much, that worked for me! I tried both methods simultaneously as well, so I'm also not sure if you have to do both or not. But at least I was able to complete the game!

I got yet another crash later on,
after Edna is arrested, when Doc counts down and the DeLorean disappears
, but I was able to pass it, too, by using this same trick.

Still, I hope these crashes get a proper fix. Although Episode 5 was claimed to be the most tested, it was the only episode in which I encountered game-breaking bugs.

But it was an amazingly good episode, BTW. :D

    it worked for me too!
Just change the graphic settings to 5 bars and it should work!

    p.s. GREAT FINALE!

It worked for me too. Just changing the graphic settings to 5 bars does work and as soon as it gets 1 second past the glitch, the setting can be changed back, both for Hill Valley disappearing and the other Delorian.
And I agree, It was a GREAT FINALE!
It also looks like there will be a Season 2! I Can't Wait!!!
I hope they fix the glitch before the DVD comes out
