Episode 4: crash on startup.

edited May 2007 in Game Support
I'm a Season 1 subscriber. Having recently read that the memory leak in Episode 4 had been fixed, I re-downloaded and reinstalled Abe Lincoln Must Die. However, now when I try to run the game it immediately crashes with the following error details:

Problem signature:

I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I want to emphasize that the game was working before this (albeit with the memory leak problems many encountered), and the only major change to my operating system since then was installation of the ASIO4All audio driver, which I have since uninstalled after running into this problem, but it didn't help.

Let me know if there is any other info I can gather. Is there some way to get the game to dump a .log file of some kind, so I can figure out what is causing it to crash?

Sorry to hear things aren't working well for you. The leak problem was actually in Episode3, and has not yet been patched. Episode4 hasn't been updated since it's release, so if it worked on your machine before, it should still work now. I'm afraid the only thing that could have changed is something on your machine. Perhaps it is something related to the audio driver.

When do you get the error message? Did you have any trouble with any of the other episodes? What are your system specs?

We do our best to help people troubleshoot problems with our games, but often crashes are due to problems with the individual machine, which makes it tough to figure out what's wrong. If we can't reproduce it, it's hard to fix it. ;)

Please launch episode 4 and see if the same thing happens. If so and episode 4 worked for you previously, then let's figure out what's changed on the computer since then.
