SOMI:SE Windows 7

Sorry I know this has been mentioned before but I have just purchased a new PC running windows 7 64-bit, I just intalled SOMI:SE (from the telltale store) and after i try to start it up I get "MonkeyIslandSE.EXE has stopped working"

If someone has had this problem and fixed it can they please let me know how?

BTW, I did find a post of someone saying to download DirectX 9.0c because it doesn't work with newer versions, but im just wondering if there are any other solutions.

    Installing DirectX 9 appears to be the best (the only?) solution, as mentioned in this thread.

    I decided to download directx 9 and it now works fine.
