Families and vacations...

edited July 2011 in General Chat
Every one has their own ideas, no one is willing to agree on anything, we go back and forth where we might go...and every one is fighting, yelling about one opinion and the other opinion. And when people speak, they aren't listened to, no one is in charm and respected to be put into position to gather all the logical facts, reasons to justify a vacation. Every one wants to yell out and give their opinion. I don't even know how to word it, but it's a mess...

It just seems selfish, we each have a individual experience to the physical and our inner physical. But, I really wish there was some one in my life that could just go along with the cause, put ego aside, but their best foot forward, enjoy their selves. Another case of ego, I'm afraid, every one wants to control where we are going.

My mother is the only sensible, considerate one , who is considering my back injury.

I'll have my looong trip AFTER my school starts -and stay there for months-, and the summer vay-cay has just started, so noone really bothers me. Plus I like my 'hood, so I don't really want to visit another place just for the heck of it. I have everything I need under my palms, a steady income and lots of food resources. Why would I even WANT to leave here just for the heck of it?

Why does everyone love the idea of vacation anyway? I mean, changing the environment you live in is one thing but temprorary visits to long distances without reasons is just a pain in the ass for everyone.

I present this to my family and they don't even attempt to give me a worthy response, so I'm good this summer 8ı

Well, it depends on where you are and where you're going. If I live in the North Pole, I'd love to go to Hawaii, but not the South Pole. I mean, penguins are really just walking birds, get over it.

I live in a hellhole and where I can go within my economical limits is still in the very same hellhole, but this just explains why I can't form an empathy with the rest.

Well, generally when my family goes on vacation its to a place of great historical significance and we're mainly there to look at the archaeology and go on adventures, not relax. Actually, vacations are the opposite of relaxing...we generally try and cram as much stuff into a week as possible...like all of Southern England in a week and all of Rome and it's surroundings (Naples, Florence, Pompeii, and Herculaneum) into a week.
