Movie: Grim Fandango or Monkey Island?
Let's say that in the near future some unknown company got permission from LucasArts to make either a Monkey Island or a Grim Fandango movie, both in 2D... Which one would you prefer?

So if your question is only about 2D, my answer is Monkey Island
Well, I can't make both you know
3D = Computer generated animation (Toy Story, Shrek...)
In my opinion, a Grim Fandango film should be a Henry Selick-style stop-motion film.

There was an old rumor that Tim Burton was attached to a Grim Fandango film, but it was just a rumor. As much as I would say its a good idea for a stop-motion Grim Fandango, I dont want it. Only because whenever there's something that is stop-motion that is dark and creepy people think its Tim Burton. When in reality its somebody else doing it. Kinda like how people(depending who you know) will mistake a hand-drawn animated feature that isn't Disney as a Disney cartoon. Or in this case a CG cartoon that isn't from Pixar that people think its from Pixar.
What's so bad about that? People thinking it to be a Tim Burton film wouldn't change the film itself in any way. I mean, people thought that Coraline was a Tim Burton film, but it doesn't change anything from the movie itself.
Well, you're saying that you don't want a GF movie to be stop-motion because you don't want people thinking it to be a Tim Burton movie. What I'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with people thinking it's a Tim Burton movie, because as much as they think it is, it's not. And if you don't like people making that mistake, just ignore them, or correct them. Either way, the movie will not change because of people's opinions, so it's not really a good reason to not want a stop-motion GF movie.
That explains a lot about the Pirates Movies and why a lot of people (myself included) thought they were ripping off Monkey Island.
