Sam and Max Devils playhouse episode 1-5 won't start, just crashes as soon as I start

So I Bought the Sam and max complete series on steam, I downloaded all the episodes and finished season 1 and 2. Then when I started Sam and Max The Penal Zone, it opens, shows a black screen for about a second, closes down and says Samandmax.exe has stopped working.

Season 1 and 2 works just fine but all of the devils playhouse episodes crash on me, I have tried verifying the integrity of the files, re-downloading and re installing. My pc specs are:
Amd duo core 2.6
Nvidia GTX 9600
And some other things I don't know. I meet all the requirements. The demo's of the episodes works 100% but the full doesn't work, Please help!

    Are all your drivers and redistributables up to date?

    If you have a dual-core, have you tried the AMD Dual Core Optimizer?

    And post a DXDIAG report.
