Penal Zone, Giant Box?

Hi, I just started playing "The Penal Zone" not 10 minutes ago, and there is a giant box in the center of my screen when I start a new game. However, this only seems to happen with my graphics set to 9. When they are on 8 or below, nothing happens like this, just on 9. Is this supposed to be a joke or something, like Warp Drive was on S&M Seasons 1 and 2?

    Ok, after playing more I've noticed it's the inventory (the giant box) that will randomly keep popping up for no reason. I'll be unable to exit and then have to alt tab and manually exit the game. Any fixes?
