Tales of Monkey Island: Can't launch chapter 5

hi,

i bought tales of monkey island on DVD for PC in the past month. awesome game.

unfortunately i cant launch the 5th chapter. i've completed the previous 4. i've tried running the chapter 5 exe file directly as well, but no dice.

any ideas?

    Do you get an error message of any sort?

    Can I take a look at your DXDiag?

    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

    Now click on the button that says "save all information". It will prompt you to save a file. Since I cannot receive attachments, I'll need you to cut and paste the contents into this message.
