I blame the Nostalgia Critic for the internet's sudden revived interest in B:TAS.

That said, I ordered Volumes 1 and 2 off Amazon the day after teh video and am working my way through them now.

I don't watch the Nostalgia Critic, but if he likes it he must have good taste!

Batman TAS is probably my default toon... if I feel like watching cartoons but do not really know what to watch I pop in some Batman and veg out for hours.

Batman is not my favourite cartoon.

However, it is definately in my top 10, with Freakazoid, Spiderman (WHY IS THERE NO COMPLETE DVD SET OF THIS!?! WHY?!! WHY!?! WHY??!!!), X-men, and Ren and Stimpy.

I just bought Volume 1 and 2 on DVD.
I am SO going to enjoy watching them.

I just started watching this recently. I sadly skipped over this in my childhood. I was absolutely astounded with how good the stories were written and how non-cheesy and non-childish it was.

And I'm sorry, but the Danny Elfman theme is the best Batman theme ever. Period. Even the Animated Series used it for a time before developing its own theme.

Respectfully disagree :) Although Shirley Walker, who did the music for the several DC animated shows including Batman, was actualy danny's compose for the Batman movie. Interesting tidbit.

I still think "Heart of Ice" is one of the best cartoon episodes of of any series.

    You're incorrect.

Danny Elfman was the composer of the Batman theme... Shirley Walker conducted the music with the London Orchestra in 1989.

    :P That's what I meant, was a mistype.

Been ill... but damn. Batman:TAS and Futurama are my favourite cartoons ever. Have watched them all many times. The best episode to me is still The Laughing Fish. The great part....not Hamill, not the TV ad, but that piece of music that is repeated over and over just enough that it's just funny.
