Sherlock Holmes game

I don't mean do exactly what the Adventure Company and Guy Ritchie are doing. I mean do a game where you can explore late Nineteenth-Century London, foggy streets, gaslight lamps. Like L.A. Noire, only it's Holmes.

TTG doesn't have massive settings usually like that, but I really give them credit for how large some of the monkey island settings were. I don't know if just statistically if you would, if that's the sort of project they take on. You're talking big settings, right?

A less linear, La Noire-like Sherlock Holmes game would be awesome.

No, I'm not. I just mean have settings that look and feels like something out of a Sherlock Holmes story.

I could never play those games... Interesting at first but SO boring after a while.
The pacing is simply awful. The concept was good...but they implemented it wrong.

Actually sounds like quite an interesting game concept. I'd really like to play a game with that sort of atmosphere and it would be even better if they got some English wit in there (might limit the appeal a bit?)

I just realized I want a GTA style Sherlock game with open world clue investigation.

You want Holmes and Watson to go around beating up prostitutes, take their money, and then steel their cars?

Well, Holmes already injects cocaine, so they're halfway there!

Like L.A. Noire in the 1800s?

This idea is growing on me, slowly but surely.

It could be a fine game, if done right, but I don't think Telltale, who make their living with linear downloadable games, would be the best choice for a developer.

'Sherlock Holmes Episode 1: The Thief Who Stole from Every Corner in London download size: 25 gigabytes.'

It's also true. That's what makes it even funnier.

Who said it didn't have to be linear?

Well, usually the point of a sandbox game is to be as open, and give the player as many options, as possible. Otherwise why make it sandbox at all?

I never said it had to be sandbox!

Nobody said it had to be sandbox, but some were postulating that it could be good if it was. Daishi started it when he said:

    I was responding to that.

There really isn't an issue here so please don't try to make one.
