I really enjoyed October Sky, I remember, because my family has been rather closely associated with the Space Program. My grandpa was one of the early pioneers into it, actually.

And I do remember seeing Bicentennial Man, like...ages ago. I think it was on an airplane. All I remember is "Little Miss" and that the robot broke a glass trinket at the beginning.

I like 'Murder by Death". It has so many red herrings and this ridiculous series of plot twists towards the end ...

I love that movie, too. You should check out another Neil Simon movie called The Cheap Detective. It's essentially a spoof of both The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca thrown in together.

I really like all of them but October Sky, only cos I haven't seen it mind!

Truman Show's one of my favourite flicks. Bicentennial Man's great stuff, even though at the same time it's not very good at all.

My words don't cut it for describing my feelings on that one, I guess I love the schmaltz.

I'm hoping the sequel to the Dark Crystal gets done right.

If it gets done at all.

"Cheryl Henson publicly stated that this sequel film is on 'hold' yet again. The Spierig Brothers have left the production. A permanent cancellation announcement is forthcoming."

What!? They've been saying they're producing it for years now!

It seems like it's in development hell similar to that of the proposed film adaption of American McGee's Alice.

Not enough people talk about The Last Starfighter.

Even fewer talk about Flight of the Navigator. I still love that movie.

Eh, it still gets a fair bit of recognition. Now, Silent Movie... There's a great Mel Brooks film that doesn't ever get talked about.

    1) American McGee's Alice: The Movie would be one of those mediocre remakes (see the recent Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). It wouldn't do the game justice (as with most movies based on games).

    2) The sequel to The Dark Crystal would be a terrible (possibly direct-to-video) sequel to a fantastic movie (see The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue, or The Neverending Story 2). The Dark Crystal is a wonderful movie with an ending which neither required nor alluded to the need for a sequel to tie up any of the story elements. Making a sequel to this would be like making a sequel to E.T. It's just not necessary and it's almost guaranteed to be mediocre at best, but more likely to crap all over the memories you have for the original.

Ok, here's a movie no-one seems to talk about, and it's one that just seems to sum me up as a person almost completely.

    The Emperor's New Groove.

I love this film. It's so wacky and zany and so untypically Disney. It feels more like a Dreamworks film with it's zany premise and wacky characters and dialogue, but it's an odd mix between the two, and I just love it.

And like I said, the film seems to sum me up. It's mad, makes little sense, can be completely random and is extremely silly but is hilarious, entertaining and well worth hanging out with. Or something. I dunno. I'm mad, don't expect everything I say to make sense.

Yeah except no one under the age of 25 has even heard of it. and yes, I have to agree with Silent Movie.

I didn't say that I 'wanted' either of them; American McGee's Alice was just the first film in development hell that popped into my mind. I was merely giving an example.

On a related note, as much as I would've liked a sequel to 'The Dark Crystal' back in the 80's/90's, I think a sequel is out of the question given that the original is nearly thirty years old. At this point in time, The Dark Crystal would sooner be remade with excessive amounts of CGI than have a sequel. Personally, I'm perfectly content on having the original on its own.

With American McGee's Alice, as much as I loved the game and my inner fan begs for a movie, I believe it would go the same way as every other game-to-movie film. The problem is that if the movie doesn't follow the game, people will get mad; if the movie follows the game too closely and offers nothing new, people will get mad. The crew would have to find some sort of balance in order for the movie to work which, to my knowledge, hasn't been successfully done yet.

Alternatively, someone could just FRAPS all the cutscenes and make a Fan-Edit, like they did with Anachronox. Just sayin'.

I actually like the spin-off movie and the TV series as well.

    Face/Off

Can't say I think that one counts in my book since it's one of the movies my friends bring up to show that Nic Cage has a modicum of acting talent.

The Town (7.6/10). Ben Affleck has done a great role in the movie and the concept of the movie is pretty cool.
