Jurassic Park: Issues with the Steam client

[Update: It's not just the Steam client, and it appears to be an issue with AMD/ATI cards from what I gather on the forums]

First of all, the game looks great from what little I could stand to play.

I have encountered some jarring issues with the game starting from the beginning.

- 1280x1080 resolution (Current native) is severely letterboxed. No HD?

- Severe stalls in seemingly untaxing points in the game. For instance, panning bonoculars in the beginning and examining objects therein.

- Snap, Crackle, Pop, was someone eating rice krispies during the dialogue recording sessions?

- Repeating 'examinate' dialogue twice over. For instance, conversation during the opening binocular scene when zooming into objects.

After trying out a couple other games in my library, I quickly determined it was not my computer acting up.Everything is set to max in the visual dept, but I seriously doubt that should be crippling the game performance at all.

PQ8300 Quad @ 2.5ghz
Windows 7 64
8 gb ram
Radeon 5770 1gb

Anyone else experiencing issues like these? Is it just the steam version?

    Could you just try dropping the graphics settings down several notches and see if it makes any difference at all?

    Same story here...everything you said... and I have the version distributed by Telltale. My computer is fine...I run Skyrim, Dead Island et al without a hitch maxed out.

    Dropped the graphics down...as well same issue at the worst settings and the best.

    Can you provide me with a DXDiag file, please?

    To send a DXDiag, click the Start menu, click Run, and then type in DXDiag and press enter. After it loads, click Save All Information and save the file where you'll be able to easily find it. Open the file and then press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents of the file, and then include that in a reply.

    MrDNA, your audio drivers haven't been updated in a couple of years. Please update those to the latest versions available from the manufacturer and see if that helps. You may also want to try right-click the game's icon and clicking Run as Administrator.

    The drivers sadly are as new as they get..as far as I can tell. As for admin mode I have done that and went through all of the different compatbility modes..even the oddly named windows 7 mode which sometimes helps things.

    Tried dropping graphics to various levels, but I still experience the same hangups in identical spots. The framerate seems marginally better otherwise, which was at least 40-45 on highest settings.

    Learned to settle for 1080x720 which is the highest resolution that fills the screen.
