[JP] Graphics problems. (Steam v.)

I'm having a peculiar problem. When I start the game I only see the options ('begin game', 'settings', 'language' etc.) while the rest of the screen is completely black. Going into the Graphics options doesn't help at all, since I can't see the graphics options, what with everything being black and all.

Then, when I start the game, I get a black screen for a while (Presumably while the title card is supposed to show), until the game proper begins, with most of the textures completely black.

I'm wondering if it might be my graphics card (Geforce 8800 GTS, drivers up to date), but it could play recent TT games at decent settings so I doubt that may be the case.

Can you try right-clicking the game's icon and then clicking Run As Adminstrator and tell me if that helps, please?

Tried that (had to find the exe in the steamapps\common folder since Steam doesn't give me that option, even if I create a shortcut to the desktop) but the problem remains.

Can you provide me with a DXDiag file, please?

To send a DXDiag, click the Start menu, click Run, and then type in DXDiag and press enter. After it loads, click Save All Information and save the file where you'll be able to easily find it. Open the file and then press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents of the file, and then include that in a reply.

Can you try running in compatibility mode for either Vista or XP and tell me if that helps?

Ok. I have no idea what happened, but the game works now.

I tried verifying the game cache, but it hung at 100% so I canceled it. Steam then suddenly started downloading a 400 Mb update. After that the game suddenly works.
