Calm down, if you have a zipping program like WinRAR open it up and press extract. Not drag the files out into what ever folder. When you extract it select the place for it to extract to.
  • edited November 2011
    thanks :), but it didn't work :(.
  • edited November 2011
That error indicates that the game wasn't installed correctly. Please uninstall the game and then follow the directions below.

Right-click the .zip file you downloaded from our site and click Extract All. Once this finishes, it should open the directory that the files were extracted to automatically. Run the JurassicPark100_Setup.exe file in that folder to install the game.

Again, make sure you're completely extracting the files prior to installing it. Running the setup from within the .zip file itself will result in that error 100% of the time, and it's the only thing that would cause that error.

still not working :( same problem :( I really want to play that game (it sounds soooo awesome!)
  • edited November 2011
Please walk me through exactly what you're doing with the .zip file.

I'm uninstalling the game. Then I'm going into downloads under the start menu on my computer (it's vista btw) and I'm right clicking the file I got from you guys. I hit extract all, let it go the pre-selected destination, (I have a bunch of other ones like every where else in my computer too) then it asks me if I want to keep the simaliar file in there or if I want to copy and replace it. I hit the replace one. (sorry this is so dragged out, I just really want to play :) Then I install it. It completes it and the same problem starts up again when I click to play it. Oh, and I also tried to extract a file labled components that was under the zip file (thing) that I got from you guys, that didn't really help. :(
  • edited November 2011
It should be extracting a Components folder. Without that, the game won't install properly. In the folder the files are extracted to, there should be a Components folder and JurassicPark100_Setup.exe.

You're running the setup file from within the the folder you extracted the files to and not the zip file itself, correct?
  • edited November 2011
    yes. :) correct :)
  • edited November 2011
How many files do you have in the Components folder after extraction?
  • edited December 2011
Ok new problem. My Aunt got the game working, and I got passed episode 1, but when I go to episode 2 there's no picture. I can hear everything, but I can't see anything unless I hit the escape key. Once I hit the escape key, I can see the menu (game settings, begin episode, etc....) but that's all I can see. Help please.:eek::(

Try lowering the graphics settings and/or running in a window.

Can you provide me with a DXDiag file, please?

To send a DXDiag, click the Start menu, click Run, and then type in DXDiag and press enter. After it loads, click Save All Information and save the file where you'll be able to easily find it. Open the file and then press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents of the file, and then include that in a reply.

Your system doesn't actually meet the minimum requirements for the game. However, updating your video device drivers might help. Please try updating to the latest version available from Nvidia and see if that helps.

How could it support episode 1 and not episode 2? I'm having my jurassic park fixing aunt come over and if we can't fix it, or we have to buy the update, I want my money back. And if we can't fix, and/or we have to buy the update, this will be my last purchase from telltale games.

    Velocoraptor,

You've got a few things working against you with this setup. You have the minimum memory (2GB), you're running Vista, and your graphics card (the 6150SE) doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game. We'll be happy to refund you, but the game wasn't intended to run on a system like this. I'm surprised episode one ran!

The latest drivers can be downloaded via the link below. Nvidia doesn't charge for updates.

I don't know if you are interested in upgrading the PC a bit, but if you or someone you know is tech savvy enough, you also have that option. The graphics chip is probably the biggest show stopper.
The HP Pavilion Slimline s3220n does have a PCIe x16 slot, so you could upgrade to an actual graphics card, instead of the rather weak integrated graphics you have now.
Even a cheap card of the current generation should help, or maybe someone you know has one lying around he/she doesn't need anymore.
A prerequisite is, that the power supply is sufficient for that and has the required connectors. If you don't know how to do all that though, let a professional do it.

Anyway, if you want to play the game, that's one more option you can consider.

*sigh* the update said that it wasn't compatible with my graphics.....system....thingy.

oh, didn't notice that there was a page 2. I'll try that. thanks. :) (Though maybe I should call Lexie from the first movie to do that, she's a compuer "hacker" after all. LOL JK, Jurrasic Park humor. :)

I just took a deeper look into it, and realized, that your System only has a 160W Power supply. Also the case is very slim, so the choice of graphics cards is limited even further.
Upgradings that system is discussed by some people here, but you will probably not get a good cost-benefit ratio with that.
