Hector Episode 2 *Steam* Crashing to desktop.

Allo TT community, I just bought hector 2 on steam but when i run the game it will load the intro logos until a black screen with a badge says "Who Cares" on it appears, then it crashes to desktop and windows tries to find a solution (lol).

I have tried running it as Administrator but that doesn't work.
disabled anti-virus, Updated Nvidia drivers.. etc.
not sure what else to try?

Windows 7 ultimate 64. (updated)
GPU: 8800GT 512mb
RAM: 4 gig Ram
CPU: Q6600@2.4Ghz

Any help would be much appreciated.

yes i have tried that (plus a defrag).

i have, stopped all back ground tasks with clean reboot, tried all the things i read in the F.A.Q section related to my problem.

I have restarted steam a lot, tried to manually look for updates.

so bummed .

Can you provide me with a DXDiag file, please?

To send a DXDiag, click the Start menu, click Run, and then type in DXDiag and press enter. After it loads, click Save All Information and save the file where you'll be able to easily find it. Everything looks fine there. It was Hector 102.exe that you tried running as administrator, correct?

If it's still not working, try running it in compatibility mode for XP and let me know if that helps at all.

oh gee's ... running it in XP mode worked, the one obvious thing i never tried :rolleyes: sorry 'bout that.
