None of the games that Telltale have made came out in retail stores at the same time. They took a while. If you're patient, then it may happen eventually.

I did see Tales of Monkey Island once in stores here in the Netherlands. I mean, the chances are very slim most of these games see the retail daylight unless it's from a well-known franchise, but you could always try to lobby for it or something.

Well, there's always the less noble way of getting the games.

A couple of things. If you have any friends who have credit cards or friends' parents with credit cards, maybe you can hand them cash and have them place the order for you. Telltale does not display the credit card number after the order is made, nor do they allow future purchases "using the same credit card as last time," so this is fairly safe.

In the U.S., you can also buy gift cards in grocery stores, discount stores, and pharmacies that can be used as credit cards. You would probably have to pay a little fee to get one of those. Get one that's more than you need, and then you can spend the balance somewhere else.

....... How do your parents not have one credit/debit card?
  • edited January 2012
I don't know their situation, but there are people who don't like them, feel they don't need them and they can only cause trouble, or can't get them cheaply enough for them to be worthwhile. It's not a crime to prefer cash. It just makes the Internet harder.

I don't think a paypal account requires a credit card.

Can't get them cheaply enough? I thought they were free... My debit card is anyway.

But yeah, as has been suggested, go into a store that sells lots of gift cards (a general birthday card shop or news agents is a good bet), and you may find a paypal or a visa gift card. Buy that and use it.

Those sorts of things are only available if you have a bank account.

Even if you've got one of those, some people feel nervous about things that can suck money out of it.

I just imagined this giant lamprey attached to a bank account. Yep, that would make me nervous, too.
