Telltale, you have a problem.

I'd like Telltale to try to explain this. I mean, it really paints them in a bad light. Lots of bad press, lots of people have seen it. It's the sort of thing that, left uncorrected, can cost them a lot of top talent and create a lot of ill will in the gaming community.

EDIT: Original post on Reddit by Alukima: "I'm glad it's a joke to him now. I was repeatedly threatened and spent days worrying about my safety. I've lost jobs because Telltale won't give me a reference, or they give me a bad one based on my follow up. I've had to slow down hosting meetups which was one of my passions and how I met most of my friends.
I'm now unemployed, lost my health insurance and have no way to get medical treatment for a issue that is probably going to cost me the use of one of my hands... so I won't even be able to play games anymore.
But, whatever. He got paid multiple [1] times for a shitty, at home paint job by using a community he made fun of and I loved dearly to harass me and my ex-employer."

Knowing the way the internet works should any major gaming website report on this I can't personally see this ending well on a PR side of things for Telltale.

I'm confused. What's different about this then a few months ago?

At my last job we were not allowed to even give references other than time employed and reason for dismissal. So yeah, if you went out on bad terms, you were @#$%ed.

What's the entire issue here? I'm left without any substantial topic here, and I'm NOT going to read through a link just to know what the fucking topic is all about.

I think people have been over this issue, if you're going to discuss an issue that is discussed on a link, at least have the decency to actually put a short summary in the opening post, otherwise you're just sounding like a douchebag who is too lazy to put at least a little copy-pasta work in it.

No seriously, if you're going to be a bitch about something, at least make it worth our fucking time.

For those who are confused, I tried to find out what happened. A user posted a picture of the Jeep (unrelated to the game and/or controversy) on Reddit, commenting on how he liked it. People in the comments began looking back on the whole Telltale/Jeep problem, and got in arguments about whose fault it was. Someone asked for a summary of what happened, and someone else in response posted a screen capture of Boomerjink's account on the SomethingAwful forums because someone paid $5 to change his forum avatar to a text description mocking how he had over reacted and had caused the former employee of Telltale who was responsible for the Jeep transportation to get harassed by Reddit (she received death/rape threats, harassing phone calls, etc, because Boomerjinks leaked her information to Reddit).

The picture can be seen here. (Mild Language)

Unless I'm wrong, the former employee who was harassed had saw the screen capture of Boomerjink's account herself, and was unaware that someone else had paid for his account to say that. She misinterpeted this as a joke by the forum staff or by Boomerjinks himself, and commented how she was mad that this was just a joke and went on to explain that since the Jeep incident, she has been having problems because of this, which is what Comrade Pants was talking about in the first post.

Wait, woah, hold-on, pause, time-out, and whatever other phrases I could use to say "Stop!" When did this start and for how long has this been going on? Did Telltale know about the Death threats? I'm really quite confused by all this...

    Elaborate please, what Jeep problem?

Dude got a scratch on his jeep caused by transport to Telltale Games for some Jurassic Park promo or something, complained about it, Telltale didn't take the blame for it (seeing as the scratch was caused by the transporting company, either that or the scratch couldn't be verified to be caused by Telltale anyway, I don't know the legal details). That's the gist of it.

But you know what, if this is what Telltale has become, being a negative nancy fest, I'll be out of here. I come here to talk about adventure games, or games in general, or cheap deals, and the occasional Haggis being funny with his literature and stuff. I already have to deal with the SOPA bull that's been going on over the internet, since that.

It's not Telltale that has the problem here. This forum has just turned into yet another gaming board. And it's not a good sign.
Icedhope is still cool though. If you thought this was because of you. Well, perhaps a little during the times you were a negative nancy.

I think it was really that Telltale was waiting for their insurance company to pay for the damages and this dude got impatient and released a shitstorm on someone who was only tangentially involved. It was really stupid and if I meet that dude I might not be able to refrain from clocking him one in the jaw for being an assclown.

I would like to have more input on TTG's games, but aside from the upcoming KQ game which we know nothing about and have presently exhausted conversation for, they haven't developed and are not developing any games which I would consider buying since Sam & Max s3, except for Poker Night and Puzzle Agent 2, which are short and aren't adventure games.

True we haven't really had anything to talk about since Back to the Future, and most of us don't like to talk about it due to a certain someone who rags on it everytime its mentioned.

Well, what do you expect me to do. It's a piece of shit.

Anyone who thinks otherwise can get a punch in the ARACHNADS.

I know how you feel. It's like Telltale's a completely different company now.

Telltale is still awesome, as long as you can enjoy easy games.... which I can, as long as they have good characters, storylines and atmosphere... I used to feel a need for every game I played to challenge me, I no longer feel that way.
It varies with my mood... sometimes I want to play a challenging game, and at those times I don't play Telltale games.
However, there are also times when I just want to relax, sit back and play an easy game where I don't get stuck and can enjoy a good storyline and have a fun time despite not being challenged.
