Two of my favorite stories are "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" and "Super-Toys Last All Summer Long". Some of the thematic elements of loneliness and touching on 'what is real', although only briefly explored here as necessitated by the format of a short tech demo, really resonated with me.
No no, I was just impressed it could run on a PS3 level of hardware as opposed to something next-gen. It wasn't a dig at Sony at all. The technology behind this is pretty damn amazing.
Or were you kidding? In which case, *beep boop* Microsoft rules *beep boop*

I'm not entirely sure whether I was kidding or not because I was drunk when I made that comment and now have no memory of doing so!
It was surprisingly well written, acted and directed. Surprisingly, because Heavy Rain's writing and acting was atrocious, and it was more like a movie from a wanna-be director who was too bad of a director to make an actual movie (the fact that the movie was interactive was HR's only saving grace in my opinion, and the reason why a lot of people like the game... if you make an actual movie out of it, people are not gonna enjoy it).
EDIT: You know... I can't actually say if HR's writing was atrocious, may it by itself wasn't, because now that I think about it, HR's voice acting may have influenced my opinion of the writing itself.

The writing wasn't that bad. I definitely think you need to account for the voice acting. "Nahmen Jay-den."

Yeah, I guess so. It's funny how a certain bad element may ruin for you other good or not bad elements.
And this is why I like this tech demo video. It IS actually predictable, I'm not denying that, but it's also really well done in all areas and generates a really positive impression, whereas Heavy Rain, for me, is not like that.

Oh, and the whole emotional journey thing was pretty good too.
Shut up, Microsoft boy!

My apologies.
Clearly, Kara has more of a soul than you do, Sir.
I spy a TROLL!
No, I think Heavy Rain's one of my favorite games mostly because of it's charm you cannot fake. The hideous accents are adorable.
This, however, was cold, predictable, and failed to show anything remotely impressive.
And I too am surprised that that was done using PS3 hardware. Remind me why we need a PS4?

So....you're dissing Kara because it's actually better than Heavy Rain?
