The Great Beer Thread

edited April 2012 in General Chat
So I was sitting around today doing my usual activities - cashing large checks, writing novels, saving the world, etc - when a thought occured to me. I have no idea what sort of beer the Internet prefers!

So I thought I'd end my self imposed exile to ask you lot a simple question. What beers are Telltalers drinking? To start, my two favorites:

and

Finally, I have a bottle of expensive, imported German beer that I've yet to drink. What can you lot tell me about...

    I love Guinness Stout.
I love Rolling Rock.. its a great summer time beer when its hot
    I love New Glarus
I love Leinenkugels if fact I live near the Leinie Lodge where its made.. they do free tours and they let you sample new flavors... its sort of like winning the golden ticket in charlie and the chocolate factory... but its open to everyone (even kids... no samples for them) and there are no little people panted orange.

    Now I want a beer.

    MAGICAL!!!

I've yet to have a British beer. How is it? Is it very hopsy? Hops are kind of citrusy for my tastes.

I love to pick beers I've never tried before. Considering that there are a lot of them out there, some of which are brewed only seasonally, this turns out to be pretty easy to do. So I try not to repeat, and whatever's in my fridge tends to be whatever wasn't there last time.

I think British beers tend to be a little on the bitter side. A friend of mine told me he liked mixing them with Sprite. I tried that once, but it didn't agree with me.

Bitter is good, insofar as I'm concerned.

That's amazing. I wish I didn't need to preserve my one working kidney or I'd totally go.

That particular one is quite tasty, although contrary to what the Brits will tell you it is *much* better cold. It's definitely heavy on the hops, though I wouldn't call it citrusy. Sadly you probably can't get Hobgoblin in the states, as it's a local beer. The easiest ale to get around the world is probably Newcastle, which is pretty good. In general English ales are fairly bitter, a bit smokey, and quite heavy. Definitely don't mix them with anything, that's just bad advice for all beers.

I used this once to win a round in Cards Against Humanity!

But that's all I know about it. I didn't even know what the card meant, I just played it because everything else made even less sense.

When I was in my early 20's my Bros and lady Bros would by a bunch of Old Milwaukee for use in our beer bong (I still have that thing collecting dust in my hallway coat closet.) But seriously drink responsibly.

I saw a lorry delivering that today and thought of this thread.

I don't think I've actually had beer of any sort since I was a small toddler (what? I thought it was coke!). I'm more of a cider drinker.
