Glen Walkie talkie

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
I just did 2 playtroughs now of Episode 1 and must say it was awesome checking out different possibilities. I thing i found odd tho on my first playtrough that i never heard Glen calling for help via the walkie - talkie. I was stuck a long time at the drugstore cuz i immediatly went out with Doug checking the outside surroundings and ofcourse i coudn't open the gate (as you have to help glen first.) So i was kinda stuck here. I went back in and just talked to Carey and she just said that she wanted to go to the motel. But Glen never called for help. In my second playtrough Glen immediatly called in with the walkie talkie and asked for help. I wasn't hopelessy stuck and had clear directions where to go first. I am thinking it was a bug that i did not hear Glen the first time or is it just certain dialogue decisions that alter this?

I think it may have something to do with the order of how you do things, i was on my 3rd playthrough hen this happened, but the game told me to talk to Carley. I knew how to do everything so this is the order i went in when this glitch/bug happened.
    1. I talked to everyone and gave everyone that could have a energy bar, one.
    2. I fixed Carley's radio and "showed concern for her"
    3. I went into the office where i got the photo, remote, cleared the path to the pharmacy, and patched up Clementine's finger.
    4. Then what i did was go outside with Doug (the reason i did this last is because there was no point in me going out without the picture and remote.) I gave him the remote and he turned on the TV's, and i also showed him the picture to show him that the "trapped walker" had the keys to the pharmacy.
    5. We went back in then i talked to Clementine, and as i ws talking to her, in the top left corner it said "! Talk To Carley" (I play on PC, with the "hints" on.)
    6. Went over to Carley and she said, "Are you ready to go", but Glenn never called for help.

I think this either has something to do with what order you do things in or how many times you check on Clementine, because, I think when Glenn was supposed to call, i checked on Clementine and asked if everything was alright, (I did this 3 times, before we went in the office, in the office, ad after the office) i think it has something to do with either of these.

Hope this helps! I haven't seen anyonelse post anything about this, so hope this is a little correct!

Have to disagree with the (3<->4) you didn't know what the pic or remote were for, if you didn't go outside with Doug.
1-2-4-3 worked for me. The whole operation is supposed to be left for after you get the Axe.

the game does make it clear what needs to be done to progress so regardless of what is said here you're told what needs to be done 'eventually'

If you have TIPS on. Otherwise you would need to make an extra conversation round.

Well, both were actually Clems from her house, Lee was just using the one he found in the drawer, let Glen use it while searching for gas.. then in the end, he took off with it.

Makes me think of the line when Kenny asked Lee if he can pick a lock, being Urban and all..

When if ya think about it, was Glen who knew to use a spark plug to break into a truck, then leaves with the only other working walkie talkie.

Gotta watch those sneaky asian boy's! :p

The RV, he obviously fixed it up and hotwired. They should really consider giving Clem a weapon, she was pretty handy with that football and it was one of the deadliest weapons in post apocalyptic FFX world.
