Norton Security Suite - Possible cause of steam start up problems

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
Just wanted to throw this out on the forums. Norton doesn't seem to like indie Zombie games. I got Lone Survivor and the consolation TWD Steam key and both game's .exe's were flagged and deleted.

Make sure you guys disable Antivirus auto-protect before booting or the exe may mysteriously disappear.

Yes .... Symantec's Norton just removed "Walking Dead101.exe", because the program "acted in a suspicious way."

Yup, Norton tried to remove a file from my game too. restoring it from quarantine and excluding it from future scans seemed to do the trick.

That would explain why the only way I could play the game was to go offline.... Once offline I had no problems playing at all. Makes perfect sense.

no.. both doesn't help.. going offline and disabling the AV AntiVir doesn't fix the problem (and i have the same as you). There is also no file in the quarantine zone ...
