Download Question

A local magazine was kind enough to put demo versions of all six Sam & Max Episodes on their DVD. Now I am considering buying the whole season, but before I do that I would like to know if there is any additional download necessary, or if the demo versions activate into the full versions without extra downloading. The reason why I am asking is that I am in South Africa, and my friendly monopolistic ISP imposes rather harsh bandwidth limitations.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

After you nbuy the full game you need to redownload it. It is better because this way there are less problems.

That's not actually true. You can buy the season set, but you'll need to e-mail support@telltalegames.com with the hardware fingerprints from episode one and episodes 2-6 (as 2-6 will have the same fingerprint) and your order ID. We'll send you back manual activation keys, and that way you won't have to download anything.

To get the keys, just click "Activation Support" in the demo screen and follow the instructions.

To clarify what tabacco said, you only need to click the "Activation Support" button and email in hardware fingerprints for episodes 1 and 2. The key you're given for episode 2 will unlock episodes 2 trough 6.

No it won't, but we can use the finerprint from episode 2 to generate keys for eps 2-6. :p

By the way - what magazine did you get the demos from? Just curious. :)

Thanks for all the quick replies. I guess I will proceed as tabacco and Jake suggested.

Emily: The magazine is called NAG (New Age Gaming) and is one of the few serious local gaming magazines. They had quite good reviews for the Sam & Max Episodes, I can email you the snippets if you like.

I've never heard of New Age Gaming. That's cool. :) (great use of purple tentacle too!)

Maybe host the scans on Imageshack and post them up? :)
  • edited June 2007
There might be a copyright issue with hosting them publicly, but I can ask the NAG guys if they have any objections. :)

Spoke to the NAG editor and not only has he allowed me to put up the scans, he will provide me with high-quality JPG files of the articles by Wednesday. So if y'all have a bit of patience, I'll put them up as soon as I have them.

    Cool, thanks! :)

I was in touch with them earlier in the season and knew they would be covering the games, but I never got to see the coverage.

Well apparently I can't spell "fingerprint"...

Well, there is fine print and then there is finer print :D

Will post the articles later, got to see some clients now.
