I have ideas...

My money is real limited as Im sure it is for everyone... I dont mind waiting for episodes the graphics look dope I love the series etc. I have read/skimmed all 5 pages of threads looking for things on items and choices. Basically I love the idea of important choices or decisions that may or may not affect in various ways yet Im really interested in the choice aspect when it comes to playable interiors item collection stuff like that. Are there many options for that? If they are possibly going for a realistic emotional type thing for instance -I dont have a weapon and Im in a room with a coffee table being overrun- I want to be able to smash that table duct tape a kitchen knife to it and go to town on some zombies. I am mechanically inclined can I choose a class that plays off that to coincide with like making weapons etc? Can I barricade and hole up somewhere like Morgan did (w/a sniper rifle) in episode 1 on TV? I know this game is striving for originality and I haven't even played it yet. Whether I can eventually do these things is going to be a major part of whether it will be worth it to me to invest...any feedback?

Telltale Games essentially do puzzle games, so what you can do in each Episode is extremely limited. You could almost say it is a visual novel.

This game does not have free-roam gameplay it's a story driven adventure/puzzle game. Although the choises you make will come into play in later episodes... In the "Playing dead" movies available on the YouTube Telltale Channel it has been said that your made choise will alter the storyline but will not be gamebraking.

(Gamebraking means, it will not get you killed but it can worsen your problem or cause you to go about problems you face in a whole other direction)

As for your question about the baricading yourself in a house and sitting out the Zombie Apocalipse... No, you will not be able to do that as this game is story driven and not free-roaming.

    Its low budget

    sigh...

what did you expect for $25 ? and i also think it's worth more than that but because of it being episodic thats why it's low price.

Since the game has 'cel shading' or comic like visuals which is the whole freaking point of it being an extension of the comics.

LMAO so...um is this like maybe Myst with zombies? LOL is that what you guys are saying? If so NO THANKS LOL :) I dont know I watched the link you posted Jaybles(thank you for that) ... how about this does the NPC's have this skill type thing that comes into play at least? Meaning I have heard alot about the choice between the girl and the guy and saving one of them I personally would be looking at saving someone who was beneficial to my survival like if the girl was a student and the guy was a paramedic or mechanic or something I would choose him LOL does that kind of stuff come into play? Hell who am I kidding? Im going to buy this game but damn who do I have to beg to make the game I play in my head? LOL I might have to change my major. I want a life like zombie/apocalypse game with the stuff I mentioned and I have MANY more ideas to add. I just might have to make it myself :(

Naw, it's like Indigo Prophecy with more zombies and less Dragonball Z.

    We know
Carley can shoot a gun pretty good and Dough is a techy,
what their skills will bring to the game in later episodes we'll have to see.

It's actually one of my favourite games, though I use the term 'game' very loosely. Tight writing (till the third act anyway), great voiceacting, timed dialogue choices, branching scenes... listen closely and you can hear several forumites jump up and say "hey! That sounds really familiar!"

Man, Walking Dead is going to be awesome.

Ethan being sane and Lilah and Lucas being crazy?

I actually like the plot idea but mostly i read it in case they make jokes about a game i play.

also i had an idea Grace Jeanette playing Clementine on the tv show as a guest spot

Yeah PZ is great, the R release should be out within the next week hopefully, fix a lot of bugs, new animation system, and optimized engine. You should be able to run it Capn, if you ran 1.5D.

And yeah Indigo Prophecy was amazing til the last hour or so. It's like Activision(who's known for this) was pushing them to put the game out, so they made up a random idea to finish the game with. Or the director is just crazy.... He also put some strange things in Heavy Rain and didn't flesh them out for the story

Write a Bunch of Short stories first before tackling a big proect
  • edited May 2012
Oh I've got a bunch of short stories, just never bothered publishing them. I already have half the book planned out, just need to take the time to type it up, proofread and edit. I don't usually work on the book at work so it's mostly nights

You should put them together by theme I had a book idea about a man [or woman] forced to live 24 years in one day . Essentially everyone is a statue and each hour is one year. But it never amounted to anything

    Interesting...

I also have a collection of poems but I don't publish most of them because they're personal or for specific people
