Wouldn't be cool if TT made their own Ip adventure game?
Although I like Bone and Sam and Max, I miss the old Lucas Arts adventure games where it isn't licensed, therefore less restriction on creative control. What I mean is that I would love to play a game that is completely original and somewhat resembles the old games like DOTT and Monkey Island. I mean, would it be possible for TT to make a game based loosly on DOTT or Monkey Island? I mean it wouldn't be considered copyright infringment for TT to make a game about several highschool kids that have to solve a mystery (much like Scooby Doo and Maniac Mansion)? I mean I think the guy who made the first three police quest games left Sierra to make another police game that is similar to police quest, but with a completely different cast of characters.
I mean they can make a game where you are control a talking bear addicted to morphine and his pet deer roadkill named roadie where they have to stop a circus clown from taking over the world by distributing his mind control cotton candy all over the nation. I modified my topic BTW

On the main topic: yes, it would seem desirable and in fact inevitable for telltale to develop their own ip at some point. What major game developer doesn't have one or two succesful game lines of their own creation? For the moment these licenses are doing great as signature lines but without original ones there will be a point when people start to think of it as showing that telltale doesn't have the creativity to make up something new (much like most of us feel about the way LucasArts leans on Star Wars).
Everything is still working out fine at the moment, but some two years from now Telltale will reach a plateau where they have to create something original or become "that company that does the [...] games". Not that I'm worried; they like planning ahead and keeping secrets, so in all probability they'll make a nice surprise announcement at the most optimal moment.
I know I'll be looking forward to any game they create, but a Telltale original would be a special treat
You learn skills along the way, such as counting cards and sleeving Aces.
I know this firsthand.
Hold'Em Quest, coming soon.
It better be set in an massively multiplayer online casino environment which I have to pay $10 monthly for!
