Name a few of your favorite sad songs to listen to when your feeling depressed, you may comment on them, but not in a bad manor. Okay mine are:

Johnny Cash- Hurt
Bruno Mars- It Will Rain

I know it's not a lot, but yeah. The days that I am depressed or sad I listen to these. What do you listen to when your feeling depressed?

You guys should listen to Frankie J daddies little girl in your free time. It's a sad song, bout a girls dad dying she get's so depressed as the song goes on. It reminds me of one of my fellow friends. She went through the same thing. =\

I also have some songs associated with people. Some of those are hard to hear when the person is no longer around.

But yeah, I also prefer to listen to happy things when I'm in a down mood, not things that will make me even sadder.

Sorry guys if you didn't want me to post a thread like this, but I've been depressed lately. I asked something stupid I should of never said to a friend and I almost blew it cause of it. This is most of the reason why I posted this thread, kinda make me feel better. It's working a little bit. I think. So yeah, That Frankie J song also cheers me up kinda, but then it doesn't. lol

This one isn't that sad, it's just a bit depressing.

But you'll never see Steve from Blues Clues the same way again.

True story: a few weeks ago I was at a bar and started crying when they played "Puff the Magic Dragon".

    ... Fuck you, it's a sad song.

Puff SPENT THE REST OF HIS LIFE ALONE because a little boy stopped believing in him. In order to cope emotionally I had to believe that another child came along to pick up where Jackie Paper left off.

I guess that song is a downer isn't it. Well he lived forever so he probably got over it eventually. I guess the kids today wouldn't know what it's like, but when I was a kid, I had a couple best friends just move away. One day, bam, gone, never saw or heard from them again. It's different now that the internet is around though.

I reckon kids today should learn what loss is like, because loss is a fucking bastard.

Seriously, I choose to believe that Puff keeps meeting new children to believe in him and thus stays alive. This is pretty much the only way I can cope with adult life.

    No shit.

Probably the closest I've come to crying since my mom died was tonight at the viewing, when "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawio'ole (a.k.a. the ukelele version) started playing.

    Funeral's in the morning.
  • The Sky Is Crying.

The band Cream sucks ass, i’m talking about SRV.

    Anything by Coldpla-

    OH GOD STOP HITTING ME.

Angel Band. It's the song that plays over the credits of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and I never actually picked up on the words until I watched the ending after the funeral. I've been kicking myself ever since that I didn't have it as a suggestion for what to have sung at the funeral.

My latest sun is sinking fast
    My race is nearly run
My strongest trials now are past
    My triumph has begun

    Oh, come, angel band
    Come and around me, stand
Oh, bear me away on your snow white wings
    To my immortal home
Oh, bear me away on your snow white wings
    To my immortal home

Even though I didn't get it performed at the funeral, this song will always make me think of my mom now.
