Walking Dead Start/Activation Issue [Merged Thread]

When I click to play game I get this message: Your telltale account does not have license for this game. Would you like to go to telltale game and purchase this game now. I'VE ALREADY BOUGHT THIS GAME AND HAVE PLAYED IT PREVIOUSLY SO WHAT IS THE DEAL?????????:mad:

    I'm having the same problem as well with my copy of The Walking Dead. I've had it once before when the Telltale site was down so I assumed it had something to do with an account server but now I'm not so sure about that.

    I thought that once you activated the game with your account that was it, it was activated and didn't require any other checks. :confused:

    It happens to me too at the moment. It's probably some server issue.

    Hi
    I bought the game through this site earlier today, downloaded and ran the installs, then started up.
    Keep getting the same error each time it asks me to unlock the game:

    "Unable to establish a connection to the Telltale servers to verify the ownership status of this account. Please ensure that you have an active internet connection."

    Since then I've tried uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling, adding to my firewall exceptions list, both email as username and username.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey,

    It's possibly a server issue. Myself and a couple of others on the forum are having problems with our accounts that have already been activated. My only advice would be to wait awhile for the servers to start working again.

    Ahh, I was wondering the same thing, played through on release, wanted to have another crack at it before the next instalment and I've got the same issue too.

    At least I'm not alone :P

    I'm also having this problem. Can't connect to the Telltale servers. When will this be resolved?

    Can't say for sure, it's been like this for a couple of hours already. Best bet would be to give it half a day before trying again. Hopefully they should have someone working on the servers over the weekend, if not then we're not going have access till Monday probably.

    Yeah it's been down for at least a hour and a half now, and nobody can access the game. It really sucks.

    Our web team is looking into this now and it should be resolved soon. I definitely apologize for the inconvenience.

    Mike, Can you re-post on this thread when it's fixed, so we can all see when the problem's solved and know when to try activating the game.

    So today i load from Homepage WlakingDead100_v2Setup.exe but still have this message

    I just bought the almost everything pack, and i'm trying to play The Walking Dead...
    First it told me that there was a server error or that there is no internet connection...
    Now it tells me that my telltale account doesn't have a license for this game. I'm trying to log in on the Walking Dead Site... It won't work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks! It kinda worries me that the servers have to be on in order to play... Kinda like the Diablo III always online thing.

    Not exactly. Normally you can play TWD offline.
    Though at least in my case it doesn't work offline anymore either, since i started the game while the server was acting up. My wild guess is, that it messed up the activation somehow.

    You can of course try if it still works offline for you.

    Still having problems with my TWD game. Though it is taking longer between the click and the "No activation" pop-up.

    EDIT: Nevermind, after a couple of restarts the game prompted me for my account details. Playing it as we speak :)

    Not working for me - Still getting the "Your telltale account does not currently have a licence for this game" error. Bought when EP1 came out and have played it through already.

    How do I enter my account details to sort this?

    I think this thread has had two different issues merged together. The issue that people have said is now fixed was a different issue merged into this one.

    One is where the the game couldn't connect to the server to authenticate (which appears to have been fixed now).

    The second (and the start of this topic) is one where the server was connecting anyway, the game had already been validated and played on episode 1, and now its connecting but saying there is no license on the account. (I have this problem too.. can't do anything with it at all and this error still exists.)

    I've sent in a support ticket but had no response yet. Been having similar issues with the sam and max games too and had to validate all of those using the codes.

    Right so.. after doing a bit more searching there is another thread (smaller thread) where the problem to this longer thread has been given a solution. (Might want to merge that one to this one too?)

    Basically, start the game with the spacebar held down and put your details in again. It should then connect and authenticate properly.

    I should add that took a few attempts hold down the spacebar to work - I noticed that the game opened up in a window which lost the focus; once I clicked on the window to get the focus (still holding down the spacebar) it took a lot longer to load, but when it did I was prompted to enter my password after clicking on the "Click to begin" link.

    Strangely, the first part of my message disappeared - I was thanking Fathom for pointing out the thread; I experienced the same problem this morning when I attempted to run TWD to download Episode 2.
