Episode 2 Still Says "Coming Soon"

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
I pre-ordered the season and was able to download the game and play episode 1. When I go into the game, it still says Episode 2 "Coming Soon" and I am unable to download it. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm in the US, so I don't believe it is that issue. I'm also on a PC.

Thanks in advance!

    Steam or Telltale Store?

I'm having the same problem with the Telltale version

Download again from the Telltale Store (there are a new version for the installer released months ago and I've forgot to install), reinstall keeping saved games and configuration, restart and try again.

    It worked for me.

Sorry - Telltale version. I did redownload/reinstall from under "My Games" and that did not correct the problem either.

I tried using the technique I just found in another thread of going through Windows Explorer and making sure "compatible with windows 7" is checked, no good either.

I had the same problem, but instead of doing compatible mode, I checked the run the program as admin.. it's giving me the "Get" button for ep 2 now.

@m0rieris: Try if that would work?

TTG didn't check for that basic thing? Of course you need to be admin to install programs (Episode 2 is just like any other program), but users shouldn't need to know how to "run as admin" for that. The game should automatically try to "elevate" the priviledges by showing one of those "UAC" windows that ask for permission.

I'm running the Steam version so I didn't have that problem.

So, I'm curious. I'm having the same exact issue.. only I saved Doug and have Carley.

I played through once on a save, then on a second slot, started over from the beginning, and when I tried to start Ep 2, it has Carley instead of Doug. I ESC, and try to restart and get the "Coming Soon" thing.

I have the Steam PC version... so.. is there a fix for peeps like me?

    ETA:

Okay, I just went back to the save... did the rewind and re-selected Doug. Played out the rest of the episode, and even watched all of the credits. Went back to the main screen, chose to play from the save, and it STILL has Carley.

I've checked the TellTale "support" page, and did the options they have for Steam (didn't fix anything, but I did it anyway.)

There doesn't appear to be any other line to contact THEM for support (that I could find) and they don't appear to communicate on the forums ... so what/how do are we supposed to get help with programming bugs like this? Sit on our hands and wait, I guess.

This is the first title I've ever purchased from TellTale... if this is any indication on how they run their business, this will also be my last TellTale purchase. $25 for an unfinished game was definitely a gamble. With the two month delay, and now this.

If anyone has a link to contact support, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks...

Copy/paste my post from another thread:

Well, I've got the Telltale Store version but I tell you what I did.

Install the new installer from Telltale Store, that's first. Past Friday Steam should have updated your game. If didn't, review your Steam game cache and, if this doesn't work, backup your savegames, uninstall the game and reinstall.

Then, if you keep with the problem, replay THE LAST SCENE from Episode 1. It's not necessary you play ALL the Episode 1 or watch ALL the credits either.

    Then play the Episode 2.

Good luck! Tell us if it worked!

I got it working for the first play through, so I don't know what re-installing will accomplish.

That being said, where can I download the TellTale installer? And do I activate it with my login info from here? Or...? I don't know if it'll let me run it outside of the Steam program.

I've stopped running through the whole thing already. But, I've played that last chapter, probably ten times now.. and each time I try to advance to episode two, I get Carley.

I DID send an email to support@telltalegames.com but got the auto-reply that it could take a few days for them to respond. With Independence Day coming up.. I'm thinking it may be next week before I hear back from them.

    <sigh>

This is just so disheartening. Lesson learned tho. I *very* seriously doubt I'll be buying anything else from TTG.
