Episode 2 - Which weapon did you choose?

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
I went with the sickle on my first play-through and tried out the cattle-prod on my second.

It didn't end up making a difference to me, Lee just jams the instrument into Danny's chest, then gets knocked over. I am curious to know what happens if you choose that two-pronged hook weapon...

Also, does having Kenny on your side help you at all during the final confrontation sequence? Anyone?

I used the sickle - dropped it, and Kenny finished Danny off for me. Good man - but that's only because I helped kill Larry, which makes me a bad person.

If you didn't help Kenny kill Larry, Lilly will come save you - and she will shoot Andy when he was pushing Lee's face towards the electric fence.

Also, when I took the hay rake and dropped it in the fight with Danny, Lilly came with the sickle too. Seems Danny was doomed to die by sickle, bear trap and a pitchfork.

    Triple whammy there. :(

Nice. I didn't know Lilly would finish Danny off if you left him alive.

So what happens when Andy has your face in that electric fence if you don't side with Lilly in the meat locker? Does Kenny come to the rescue instead?

a qte happens and you wriggle out of it by yourself while lily looks on,it was at this point i decided she must die.

    Nevermind!

I went with the sickle. If there was a chance of obtaining a weapon, it would be useful if the weapon didn't have to rely on batteries or chargers.

Also I don't understand why Lee couldn't take the sickle and cattle prod. He was able to carry an axe and a cluster of energy bars in the last episode. Alternatively, Lily/Kenny/Clementine could have collected the items for the group. :P

Lilly doesnt kill anyone in either scenario, she saves you by hitting Danny with a sickle and he falls into the trap, then you kill him or let him live. Or, if you sided with Kenny, he pushes the stable door into Danny and later you have to fight off Andy yourself instead of Lilly shooting (but only injuring) him.

I've tried all the weapons and none of them make a difference, i figured Lilly would use something other than the sickle or something but she uses it regardless.

Of course. Kenny cares about who cares about him. ;)

Ahh, I understand now, my mistake.

    She does not.

Hay hook (or whatever it's called) seems to need some love.

I chose the cattle prod in both playthroughs. It seemed like the best bet against somebody dripping wet from a thunderstorm. But in the end, the choice doesn't seem to have made much of a difference, does it?

I chose the cattle prod because I thought it would knock him on his ass (like a stun gun). I was dissapointed when it barely hurt him.

I chose the cattle prod too. Danny it's a tough guy. He doesn't drop the gun even. But... well... If only Lee would hit at neck and not chest...

Danny killed me more than four times. I couldn't find the hotspot. :o

I would think a cattle prod to the chest would be pretty effective. That's where your heart and lungs are afterall. You could seriously mess someone up like that (stop their heart, maybe collapse a lung). And that tool is used for an animal that probably has 1000+ pounds on Danny, so I don't care how tough Danny thinks he is that thing is putting you on your ass.

May be it's low in batteries.

In my case, Kenny cowered in the cattle stall during my entire battle with Danny.

When Kenny finally skulks out of the stall, the long, silent exchange between him and Lee is priceless. Kenny is clearly ashamed of himself for his cowardice after all his verbal bluff and bravado.

I hope that Kenny will apologize on Episode 3 in your gameplay.;)

i first had the sickle, thought it's a good choice, then i saw the hook-thing and took it, nah - back to the sickle... then finally i saw the cattle-prod and took it - best choice imho.

@greenj2: "God, I hate Kenny so much after the events of episode 2. XD He was my bestest buddy ever at the end of episode 1. Ch-ch-ch-chaaanges..."

    this! :D

i thought exactly the same thing. don't know how i could be that wrong about him, awesome work ttg! how you switch sympathies in walking dead. i am thankful for the ride to leave the farm in episode 1, for the hand at the end of episode 1 and for the chats here and there - but now, at the end of episode 2 i have "beef" with him. too much resentful, selfish, silly - even racist behavor if you look close enough. ;)

exactly. awesome moment - i just watched the old "night of the living dead" romero classic from 1968 recently again because i got a new remastered version as a present and it reminded me of the scene where ben was betrayed too... such a classic face ;)

I took the cattle prod. I thought Doug could use it for something.:D

There's a thread about this already, maybe a page ago. You should amend the title for spoilers.

I chose the cattle-prod because I thought it would knock him out easy.

I picked the sickle, because it was the longest weapon. I figured if I HAD to pick a close combat weapon, I might as well pick the one that gave me the most reach.
  • edited July 2012
As I first got into the room, I picked up the sickle, then found the hay hook, then the prod. Went with the prod, as I kind of thought if I used the hay hook, Andy would still shoot me with that thing stuck in him! Did think with the sickle, I'd kill him straight away, but decided on the prod, just in case if he fired, it would alert Danny.

The taser, I hoped it would stun him, instead of slashing and stabbing him that would make him scream and raise the alarm.
  • edited July 2012
I chose the sickle because it looked the most durable and the most painful.
  • edited July 2012
I wanted the sharpest one so I went with the sickle. I didn't regret that choice at all!
  • edited July 2012
    went for the cattle prod

went solid snake on his ass!
  • edited July 2012
I went for the cattle prod too -- didn't even notice the sickle, but I did pick up the hay hook first. Once I realized Lee can only pick one weapon I decided to keep the zapper in hopes it would be quicker and quieter.

    YEAH!

Too bad all of them turned out to be useless.

First time went for the sickle, next time the hay hook. The mini cattle prod somehow just didn't seem as potent.
  • edited July 2012
I picked the cattle prod. The sickle and axe hook just didn't go for me.

I went with the sickle. I didn't see the other weapons. I just grabbed the first one available and went looking for some payback.

Kenny was cowering the whole time. It was Lilly who saved my bacon...twice along with Carley.

A bit off-topic, but Kenny will actually jump out and attack Danny with his own sickle if you sided with him in the meat locker. Lilly on the other hand will refuse to save you at the electric fence if you sided against her.
