What happens if you decide not to go? (Episode 2 spoilers)

When Andy and Danny show up at the inn, you're given the option to go with them to see if they're legit, or stay. Does the stay option just allow you to speak with your group, or is it a non-option that forces you to go anyway?

You sit at the motor inn the rest of the game and you literally have NOTHING to do but to watch the group members die of starvation.

It takes 2 hours and they all just start falling over and then it says "You died" when everyone dies.

Everyone else votes to go and you have to go anyway. And then everyone still says it was your idea to come to the dairy later on anyway, like a bunch of dicks.

I voted not to go to the farm based on the very survivable setup we had seemingly created at the motel. The entire group voted against me without any dialogue options of input; I was hoping I could convince the group we had a good thing going despite the food shortage.

After Clem said how hungry she was, I was ready to relent. I didn't hear anyone say anything suggesting they thought I was responsible for putting them in the "situation" that followed, though. I remained very skeptical on the walk to the farm in conversations with Doug and the brothers.

Obviously it would be very fulfilling if I could've made the decision to stay, but I understand that Lee hasn't made himself the true leader of the group yet (despite my best efforts) and everyone still had a say at that point.
