Well Done Telltale

First Post!

Just wanted to say an enormous well done to the team for Episode 2 of this series. Episode 1 was great, and it left me very intrigued for this installment- however playing through this episode was one of those rare special experiences that I have literally not had playing a game in years.

I managed to get through the first episode with a sense that I'd done the right thing all the way through. I was massively concerned with how Clem perceived me and that I gained her trust, and I was so careful to remain neutral in the disputes between survivors, except when Larry pushed things too far. All in all though I came out of it feeling pretty good. I replayed it a few times just to see different responses etc, but it felt like a cheat, and I found myself sticking to my original decisions.

I was all over the place in Episode 2, circumstances just seemed to make it harder and harder to know if a decision was right. I also got increasingly frustrated trying to walk the line, I never wanted to go with those creepy guys, but hey the whole group thinks it's fine so ok... I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and they put me in a position where I had to help smash Larry's head in with Clem watching. By the time Danny fell into the bear trap I was not thinking logically at all, I was genuinely so pissed with them I rammed the pitchfork into him and it was a release, and I felt pretty happy about it!! Then Clem's reaction to that was something else entirely!

Could talk all day about this game, but mainly just wanted to say well done and Ep 3 can't come soon enough.

Yep, I'm right there with ya. I thought maybe the first episode was just a fluke to ensure rarely adoption of the season, but the second proved to be even better. To use a tired old cliche that I never thought I would, it was an emotional rollercoaster. I think TWD may break my top five of favorite games if the quality continues the way it has.

PeopleSandwich just wanted to let you know that there are no good or bad choices in this game. It's all about the decisions YOU take that will affect the game in different ways. These differences can be viewed in the current episode, for the moment or even for later episodes. So depending on what you choose affects the gameplay ;) Still haven't played the 2nd episode although I have it ;)

Ya Im not usually a PnC type of gamer but this game has me hooked. The tight surroundings, the voice acting, the ever present zombies really feels like TWD world. And stats posted at the end is a great touch

Well, some choices are much more leaned to being the "good choices" (not killing the St. John's because it will influence Clementine, chopping off David's leg to save him from walkers, stopping Clementine from eating the meat), but I digress.

Yeah, I pretty much agree that Telltale has done a great job with this game. I would argue that if the rest of the game is to the level of the first two episodes, this may prove to be Telletale's best game since Sam and Max. Not that they have not made good games since then (I do really like the Back to the Future game too), but they have really nailed what makes The Walking Dead comics so great with the focus on character, choice and morality. Oh, and zombie killing :)! Keep it up Telltale.

I agree with the stats posting. It gives not only a great indication of how the rest of the gamers react to situations, but also gives you incentive to replay situations. I also really loved that stat trailer they released before Episode 2 came out. They need to do that with each episode I say :)

To be honest, I think TTG is the one company closest to making characters, writing and storyline that rival Hollywood's finest and I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for games like these. BioWare and Quantic Dream came close but TTG is far superior IMO now that this game is out. To me, a video game does not necessarily mean going where I want, when I want... It means making decisions and watching how the story unfolds within a living, organic, emotional world, and TWD does just that... Although, I still think they can improve in regards to the impact of decisions.

I have to say, though, that I'm slightly apprehensive now that episode 2 is out. I'm almost certain episode 3 won't be anywhere as good as episode 2. At best, it will be like episode 1.

Pfft episode 2 was horribly predictable and late. I wouldn't go patting them on the backs...this is exactly what they were betting on. They would release and people would forget that they were mad.

I think it the game is awesome, been a fan of Back To the Future and now this game I have to say keep going and I will support you guys.

I have yet to have any issues with the PS3 version of both Back to The Future and the Walking Dead so if you keep making games for the PS3 I will buy them.

I totally agree with everything you said PeopleSandwich!!

It's not just another zombie shooting game, it pull's thought and emotions out of the player.

One of my favorite thing to do while waiting for the next episodes to come out is watch the playthrough's on Youtube. I know the game, but it's about listening to the players.. Listening to them yell "OMG RUNNN" or "Holy shit that was gross". It's the way the game instill's a sence of fear and apprehention.

I remember when I first learned about the game, I was browsing youtube for video clips of the TV show, and saw something called TWD game walkthrough EP1. So, I clicked it and watched in amazement the first 15mins til the player killed the babysitter in Clem's house.

After that, I went directly to the games page on Xbox and got it.. Absolutely love it.

Now I agree the 2 month delay was a bit hard to handle and doesnt reflect well on Telltale especially when they advertised monthly. But for me the wait has been worth it.. I didnt really get mad at TT so much because as long as Ive been on the internet and waiting for many updates and patches and expansions, I've just learned that when they are ready for release, they will be.

    With that being said!!
WHERE THE &#$% IS EP3????? I WANT IT NOWNOWNOWNOW

*flops on the floor hoding my breath pounding and kickin*

    did that help?

I believe Tales of Monkey Island hooked you as well as that's a classical game ;)
