The bag(s) of hammers

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
This thread has a lot of spoilers.

When you first meet Kenny, he tells you that his son is stupid as a bag of hammers. Kind of cruel to call your own son like that. I never liked Kenny starting from the beginning because he left Shaun for walkers, which made me think that he is as stupid/coward as his son. Thus I sided with Larry during the Duck dilemma. But well during the second chapter of second episode, I found out that his wife calls him stupid as bag of hammers as well. This made me laugh because I thought the same and she said exactly same thing as he said about his son. And later he proved his stupidity by smashing Larry's brains.

So here you can discuss whether Kenny (and his son) deserves this title of the "Bag Of Hammers"

That was a fast answer ^^
Well I did everything against him in my first playthrough, so killing me is quite an option for him xd

You thought you should throw a kid who wasn't even bitten out to the walkers? Harsh. :P I think Duck is just a kid who doesn't really get what's going on. Or didn't, in the beginning. He seems to be more aware now. Does that make him stupid? I think it makes him oblivious and disproportionately optimistic, but he's a little boy. Kenny, on the other hand, I used to like a lot. Maybe he's not dumb as a bag of hammers, but he's definitely rash and emotional and has a blind spot when it comes to his family. If any of that makes them "bags of hammers" then I guess I'd have to say they are. :P

well that was Duck's problem. If a person is so weak/stupid to be unable to say that he wasn't bitten, he deserves a harsh wipe out.

Am I the only one who is seriously disturbed by the players who think that siding with the guy advocating throwing an innocent child to the walkers is a good idea just because they personally don't like the kids dad?

Well not if you've read the comics. There was an innocent child in their group, who slowly became insane and killed his twin brother just because that kid was stupid. Now I see exactly the same story her, an innocent/dumb kid who can do exactly the same.

Throwing a boy to walkers because you don't like his dead? Looks like you're projecting there. :p

He was a child and had obviously gone into shock, as most children his age would do. Perhaps you deserve a harsh wipeout for failing to realise that? :p Besides, it's not like Larry would've believed him had he spoken up, probably would've just got a punch in the face from Larry before being chucked out.

As for possibly going insane and killing his twin, same thing could happen with Clementine too or anyone. Hell, Larry shows that he already has gone insane by trying to kill a little boy! :p

That can't happen to Clem. She has Lee and Duck has Kenny -> Duck is doomed!

Throwing out a innocent kid you say, eh? Well actually if it wasn't for Carley they would've died because of Kenny yelling around. So they were guests! Kenny is in no position to be playing the "you will do it my way card" because it's always Lee that gets the job done. Kenny can only act against people who can't defend themselves (Larry having a heart attack).

**** Kenny and his family. I can't stand them all.

Yea she is useful unlike the rest of them and she called her husband a bag of hammers, which is quite funny. :>

Well I have a few theories about Clem's insanity. In Episode 5 she probably is gonna have a chance to kill someone, who threatens Lee and that someone is someone from their group. So she is gonna kill that threatening person if you are gonna show yourself as cruel monster throughout the game. But if you are gonna spare brothers and do everything to give her hope, she is gonna be unable to help you because she is not insane. (Well I spared both brothers and said to her that they are still alive and might live on in my game so if my theories are right then I am screwed xd)

You would fault a little boy for not standing up to someone who is three times his size? Besides, he is clearly traumatized because this is apparently the THIRD TIME he has been attacked by walkers and barely lives to tell the tale.

I figured some little kids would go catatonic when faced at the prospect of their own death...it's not really his fault.

I like how people would doom Kenny's entire family because they have a personal grudge with the guy. I'm pretty sure you're the exact type of person I would NOT want to find myself stuck with post-apocalypse

As to the OP and the poll, Kenny himself admits to not being the most saavy guy - remember the Florida comment, after he says the stupid thing about Lee being "urban"?

And it's not the worst thing you can say about the guy. A bag of hammers, while not intelligent, can still be useful.

I never quite picked up on this. I always thought that Kenny is just joking around with Lee. As for the other members of the family repeating the same phrase, it's probably just a family joke.
