Lost saves, corrupted game and two month wait, im fed up

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I am so damn pissed right now, i waited for 2 damn months to get episode 2 like all of us and when i was playing episode 1 i paused and my game restarted. This is such bullshit, i looked at all the workarounds and none have worked for me, ive lost about 4-5 hours of gameplay and all of my decisions and the game is telling me that i havent downloaded episode 2 yet which i did. Once again TTG isnt saying anything to all of us that are getting continually screwed out of our money and cant play the game. I hope someone at ttg responds

screw you man who are you to tell me to go away? im a customer like everyone else who has a game breaking glitch and cant play at all.

Well, that's a chance for you to replay the game and make new decisions isn't it? :)

It was probably a corrupt ram module or something else your end causing the corrupt save issue, no need to get all prissy about it, and how you've lost about 4-5 hrs of gameplay from a 2hr episode I have no idea.

I think it's a little harsh to say to someone who is upset with legitmate issues to just " go away". as for the game play....episode 1 and 2 together have me at about 5, 5-1/ hours

This has happened to a lot of PS3 users, myself included. 3 save files, 15 hours or so of gameplay between the 3. I beat episode 1 and 2 on my first 2 files and as I went to start the third as my "silent don't say much Lee" it said all my data was corrupt and I lost ALL of my saved games. Bullshit. TTG can suck on my left nut.

    Go away.

you go away, he has a right to be upset

i lost about 16 hours of gameplay because of a big thats STILL PRESENT in the game for ps3 users. plus, is it that hard to stick to a schedule that you laid out months in advance?

Guys there are already a lot of ranting threads on this forum. Could you all just stick together and stay in one topic because otherwise you are spamming the whole forum for no purpose because if TTG decided to ignore you, they will do it no matter how many topics you create. I am not against such way fighting for your "justice" but could you just keep everything in one thread.

    @Mods
I would love if any mod will merge all those topics because right now there are too many of them.

maybe there's a lot of them right now for a reason?

the game is hugely glitched and bugged and these problems have to be acknowledged

My saves from EP1 don't work. New PC mind you but still, copied them over all fine and dandy.

Also the attitude of some people here is pretty pathetic. Just cause you post a lot on some forum doesn't mean you get to talk down to people and tell them to go away. Seriously, kids these days and their small minded power games.

Oh and Telltale, with the amount of time you took, I'd expect better, technically.

THIS IS AN OFFICIAL GLITCH. I bought the season pass for Ps3, and on my 3rd playthrough of Episode 2, I get a message saying file corrupt. All data erased. I reluctantly played Episode 1 &2 again twice, everything was fine, so I played Episode 1 a 3rd time, and when I went to continue into episode 2 a 3rd time, I got the save file corrupt message again.

The reasons for 3 save files is obvious, and there's no way I want to continue with only 2. I also heard the 360 has its own glitches, like not remembering previous episode choices, so what's the point in playing it again on a different console if that happens. I'd want some sort of compensation because 10+ hours of lost time is a crime. In 10 hours I could've booked a flight to Telltale headquarters and demanded a refund in person. I at least want them to address the problem and admit to it. After all, suckers like us who buy their damn games keep their company profitable. I was never keen on purchasing episodes online, but if this is a sign of what's to come with digital gaming, I'd rather be a zombie.

There's no reason why this should be ignored. This is a joke. Anyone at Telltale with any sort of compassion towards the ethics of business, and the value of a paying customer should definitely respond to this.

oh it was 4-5 hours of gameplay because i actually played through it twice because it happened to me more than once. I got through most of it and paused the game and it restarted with no trace of my game and then re played it and it happened again and at that point i just went ahead and played episode 2 with randomized choices because i couldnt seem to have my progress saved with the first episode. Id expect a company that made such a good game to have a little respect for all of its customers, 25 bucks might not seem like a lot to some of you guys but regardless we all payed for something that was promised to work as advertised. I know problems happen and as an avid gamer ive come across game breaking glitches before but ive never encountered a company that just refuses to answer on the forums or to emails.

I just bought for PC, it was working fine aside for a few hiccups during the cutscenes, then while I was in the pharmacy I decided to change some settings by hitting esc and the game restarted and I lost all previous data. Having just started playing, if this is something to expect on a regular basis, there is no way I can recommend anyone get this game, let alone continue playing with any confidence. I hope there is a fix for this soon.

As for the rather odd attitude towards fellow players on this forum, if you don't like a topic feel free to not read it and keep your weird entitlement issues to yourself.

IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS THAT THE GAME HAS LOADS/FEW BUGS. You forced TTG to hurry up with the game and now take a bite of your OWN medicine ;)

Well they took an extra fucking month!! Should be enough...
    Fan boys be fan boys.....

perhaps the solution is not to pause it ? especially if it is during a save point ?

each chapter is saved on a cutscene at least in the pc version it is shown by a star like spiral thingy.

also saying you have new pc means nothing if the spec of it is below the games requirements then it is actually the customers fault for not checking them before purchase.

still i have seen bugs, cutscene lag and some tearing and missing guns and the od sound glitch but never seen the brenda gltich or this.

i say if you mess around with save slots it's asking for trouble..

What I've found to be the problem (on PS3) is using all 3 save slots and/or quiting the game without exiting to the menu first. Pausing during a save doesn't hurt anything, pausing at any point doesn't cause any problems. I honestly thought this would have fixed by now, but oh well.

yeah, it's ps3 users faults that TTG can't follow their own schedule; or hire a larger staff to actually beta test their product

I don't think it's a pc spec issue for me I have 8 gigs of ram and a radon 6990 HD 4000 mb dual core video card. If that can't handle the walking dead I don't think anyone's can. It really sucked because while playIng episode 2 I didn't really feel as if any of my actions were going to be carried over to the next episode because of all these damn glitches. I think that class action law suit may be a pretty good idea. I've spoken to some friends that are lawyers and there is a case here

Suing on the ground of inconvenience? Maybe your lawyers should look at this flat soda on my counter.

These kind of threads are why I bought the game for my God-PC.
The only Issue I've had is if you pause during a cutscene it doubles over it and you can't choose dialogue options.

its not inconvenience its a product that doesn't work at all and was paid for in advance. Normally when you advertise a product and it doesnt work as it should or at all is where class action law suits come into play.

It's nobodies fault that they are delaying the episodes but they are doing so, in order for them to get out a few to none bugs as possible. Remember they need to verify certification(or what the hell it's called) with other partners in order to have a confirmed release date
