(PS3) WD Episode 1 won't start

I just downloaded and installed episode 1. I didn't get any error messages or anything, but at the title screen where it says "The walking dead - Press Start", I press start and nothing happens.

My controller is working fine - I used it to exit the game and restart the PS3, but I still couldn't get past the "Press Start" screen because pressing start doesn't do anything.

It's possible that I'm screwing up the operation of pressing a single button on the controller, but I think it's more likely that there's something wrong with the game I downloaded.

    (btw, the game downloaded a patch or an update for itself before starting, not sure if this has anything to do with the problem)
