Updates don't transfer saved games Mac OSX

Sorry if this has been answered on another thread but when I ran my version of TWD on Mac OSX 10.6 it said I needed to download and install the newest version. I do, and i run it and it doesn't see my previous game. It starts me right at the beginning. I followed installation instructions correctly (which consists of dragging an icon into the Applications folder :p). Am I missing something?
