Choices not importing correctly (OS X)

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I recently purchased The Walking Dead bundle during the Summer Steam Sale and after playing Episode 1 of the game, my choices were imported incorrectly. During the game, I chose to save Carley only to have the game load up as if I chose to save Doug. As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating after hearing how much my choices will impact the game, only to have my choices not be counted for when I continued a few minutes later.

I saw there was a solution editing the prefs.prop folder on Windows, but I have no clue how to do that on a Mac. I'm running the game on OS X 10.7.4 on a MacBook Pro with retina display, if that helps. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Im having the same problem, I completed the first episode (or so I think) and watched the credit roll.

Boot up episode two to be greeted by Kenny (While giving out food) who says I didn't help his son when I did. (If I check the summary report of the episode one save it says I helped duck and sided with Kenny during the fight).

The only difference between me and the original poster is that im on PC.

There's a fix for the PC version:

The game stores a "prefs.prop" in two places. One in:
    C:\Users\___\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
    And the other in:
    D:\STEAM\steamapps\common\the walking dead\Pack\default
Or if you don't have the Steam version, its somewhere in your game DIR.
    Do backups before overwriting anything.
Copy the prefs.prop file from your game's DIR folders, and overwrite it in your Documents\TTG\TWD folder
Go in game and load the save game with your finished EP1. Switch to EP2 in the chapter select and run it.

Yep. Thanks that fixed it. Hopefully you can get your problem solved soon too.

Hello, if you still have the problem, someone found a fix for the mac version :

Okay, here are the exact steps. If they don't work for you, complain loudly to Telltale that I shouldn't be having to fix their game for them. :)

    1. In the Finder, click the Go menu, choose Go to Folder...
    2. In the box that appears, type ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/the walking dead/TheWalkingDead.app/Contents/Resources/Pack
    3. You should now be in the correct folder! If it can't find that folder, again, complain to Telltale (unless you didn't buy the game on Steam or put your Steam folder somewhere weird).
    4. Copy (not move) the prefs.prop file from the 'default' folder to the 'WalkingDead102' folder.
    5. Start the game.
    It worked for me.

I have the same problem (pc version), but I didn't find any prefs.prop file in game DIR.
Stats for chapter 1 tells that I didn't protect Kenny's son second time, when I did. And saved him first time, while I chose saving the other guy.

Is there any other way to deal with this problem?

I use the PC version with Windows 7. The workaround mentioned worked for me but the folder with prefs.prop was /Steam/SteamApps/common/the walking dead/TheWalkingDead.app/Contents/Pack/WalkingDead102

    I hope this helps you.
