TV Show Season 3 Trailer Discussion

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
I know that the premiere of season 3 of the tv show is still months away, but comic con unveiled the season 3 trailer.

What do you guys think? This seems to take place way beyond the season 2 finale(Carl has long hair, Hershel grew a beard, and Lori is beginning to
show
as she is
pregnant
).

there may be a time skip mid season, but they aren't that far from the prison, we have to se what happens with the samurai woman and Andrea, maybe we will follow them for a week or two, while Daryl catches squirrels for everyone in the mean time and then finds the prison later

Scumbag Rick: Leaves group to hunt for squirrels when he knows there is a prison close by.

It looks like Rick won't be seeing Michonne or Andrea for quite a while.

I think the Governor wants the prision, and will keep Andrea hostage if Rick doesn't give it to him.

It looks great. I cant wait for season 3, its been far too long. Ive been missing my Rick Grimes and theyve been promising that the show is going to get more intense and action packed. It seems like it is from the trailer. Hopefully, that will satisfy everyone who was complaining the first two seasons were too slow.

yeah, i dont quite understand that, but apparently the governor is insane so little logic is required, but either they had the prison earlier and lost it, or he feels like any new society needs a prison so that one is good enough, or perhaps that is where he stores the dead like hershel did with the barn

probably rick turns up but doesn't see anyone so assumes it's abandoned but while they investigate they find out it isn't empty and then a fight for ownership starts ?

the phrase 'too good to be true' is appropriate :)

I know, thats out of the comics, I know there was a war over the prison, but I havent read the comics in awhile so Im not exactly sure what the motivation was. I think it was basically a turf war.

I think Merle will find the group, and cut Rick's hand.

I just think that Merle's going to kill T-Dog. Glen Mazarra said that they have "big plans" for T-Dog in season 3.

Can't wait for Season 3, to bad here in Canada we don't have AMC in HD yet.

Ugh, I hope they don't try and make him the replacement for Tyrone. That character was too freaking good. T-Dog is probably the least interesting of the cast at the moment.

I already see several differences from the comics just from the previews. It's going to be pretty cool to watch and still be able to be surprised. Pretty stoked that Michonne is in this season as well. Seeing Glen in the riot gear was awesome too, haha.
    Fuck you, Negan

It looks better than last season(THANK GOD). Hopefully it'll bring it...though what they've shown of Woodbury/The Governor so far...I'm not impressed. I hope that they can make the TV incarnation as memorable as the comic but so far I'm doubting it. Here's to hoping there's a lot less filler this season!

What is it about Woodbury/Governor, you dont like? It seems to fit the comic. An idyllic community with a leader who looks a lot less dangerous than he really is. I really enjoyed last season, yeah, okay, the first half started off slowly but I thought it ended strong.

Looks like the prison in the series will be starting out overrun, so we won't be getting any inmates joining the cast.

And there I was hoping to see the fella with the big soft eyes behind a pair of smart folk glasses.

So...since when did Carol pick up a gun? I hope that she doesn't begin a relationship with Daryl.

Great to see Merle at the end, wouldn't mind seeing the end of T-Dogg since he was in the background for all of season 2. The only thing I can remember him doing was getting injured in the first episode.

Potential to be a great season and it'll be interesting to see how it ends, especially compared to how life in the prison went in the comics.

I am actually quite pleased with what I have seen of The Governor so far. The actor looks like he is really giving it his best to be more of a presence that the show DESPERATELY needs. And to be fair, we have only seen glimpses of Woodbury as a whole so I am sure we have more to come.

I REALLY hope too that there is less filler. Season 2 ground to a halt with the way it just dragged out the farm and other elements. I was actually relieved when they left it, because now we don't have to watch people just wandering around and complaining like we had to for the longest time. I just want the writers to make the characters actually interesting like they are in the comics. They just have not reached that level yet.

I hate the prison arc. I love that it's where they discover the "WE ARE the Walking Dead!" twist, but that was moved to season 2. Now it's just a "turf war", as said earlier.

Yes, the arc ends well with
    spoilerspoilerspoiler
, but an ending doesn't make up for the rest, which I thought was kinda standard fare.

It cant be worse, nothing can, ever.

Season 2 sucked on so many levels, it was basicly one long ass camping trip.

I'm only at comic 20 and to me the tv show is at issue 12 location wise, but a lot of the character development in the comics were moved onto the farm in the tv show, in the comic the first day rick meets hershal he tells him about the zombies in the barn (which seems more logical if he genuinely believed they were just ill) then later he mucks up putting a new one in the barn and they kill all the zombies and they have to leave.

i can understand why for tv they wanted to do more character development earlier, and i just recently watched all the tv shows in a marathon viewing, and the second season didn't seem as slow without all the anticipation in between each episode.

I'm glad that this season has great pacing. The actors said that it would be one of the greatest things this season.

I think Hershal dies in the prison early on. If you watch the trailer we see him in the beginning and not the end. Plus, when it shows Rick talking to the gov he says "We spilt blood for this place!" So I guess I'm putting my money on hershal bittin' the dust first next season.

how can you hate the prison arc?! The prison is where we see Rick really starting to changing into a character that he wasn't before. between the multiple deaths, Rick's struggle with his sanity, I would say the prison arc has got some really good information to explore.

Glen got owned but I was thinking the same thing. I really hope T-Dog doesnt replace Tyrone. I hope we get to see the pits and I hope they don't get to far from the comics.

Yeah, yeah. It's just slow and soap opera-y. I like the early prison, not the Woodbury arc.

What, we move from no line T-Dog to becoming Rick's right hand man in season 3? Seems legit. There's no way T-Dog will become Tyreese.

Seems more likely Daryl will. Irony.

Look at the part where the group first enters "C Block" and where Rick says that the block is secure. Her
    belly has a slight bulge
