Clementine if you're watching this....

We all know that The Walking Dead is chock full of cliches {and before anyone asks i refer you to the popular trope "Slept through the apocalypse"}

So we're probably going to see the Death of Clem or Lee.

Now forcing Clems death would be career suicide for TTG because noone wants to play a game like that. Making her death optional would breed Controversy not enough to kill the company but enough to make people take a second look at it.

So if they make it optional they'll probably make you choose between saving Lee or Clem. an Easy choice {Clem of course] if you ask me. But that leaves a dead Lee and the potential for another Cliche. "Dead Man writing" Lee leaving a Goodbye tape for Clem.

So what would your Lee's goodbye message to Clem be?

And who is going to be the season 2 hero if Lee dies?

A Female protagonist maybe not the point of this thread

Lee aint gonna die. That would be silly.
And Clementine might get killed, but i doubt telltale got the balls.

    Everyone else is expendable though.

Lee dying might be cliche but not silly especially when your using a character not from the franchise you can kill em off without harming the continuity..

however the point of this thread is to write your own little message from lee to clementine in case he dies thats been recorded on his recording kind of like jolene left for clementine

"Dear Clementine if you're watching this then i'm dead. Hopefully you are in the care of someone we can trust. Kenny may be sketchy but if he considers you family you'll be safe. Or Carley will protect you. I know your going to grow up to be a great young woman. I've taught you everything I could although maybe I should have used better language. Still I hope that one day, When this godforsaken world gets back on track and people begin living their lives again. You'll be able to find love, happiness, and safety. But even if the world never gets back on track I know you'll be strong. Stay strong and remember. Stay Alive Clementine."

You would actually leave that message for a 8 year old girl?

Besides, how will she grow up to survive in that world? Where you did all you could to maintain the bubble around her protecting her from everything?

That's your opinion. I paid for the Walking Dead, not Hello Kitty Adventures. I'd continue buying the Walking Dead products from TTG even if they killed Clem off. You're being a bit melodramatic about it ending the company, no?

Honestly, I hope they make the decisions much harder in the upcoming episodes. It would be great if they brought back one of the brothers and killed off one of your group for letting them live. Make it a lot harder to white knight through the game.

My final note to Clem would simply read, "If the internet ever works again, don't visit the mass effect 3 forums. If you run into anyone claiming to be involved in the KIQCS, don't look them in the eye and run."

And by that i mean she didnt grow up in the hello kitty world where "OH GOD! Clementine coule see me kill someone so i couldnt do it! Because i am a panzy"

Regardless of what happens Clem will be OK. That little girl is resilient and brave. She has already proved she can hack it on her own for a while if the situation should arise.
OK with that being said, Clem if your watching this, take care of Duck and Godspeed.

    Hey clem

I hope you're safe and you still have your walkie and your hat.

I'm sorry i had to leave you this way, but if i was killed by our friend, i told them to do it incase i was a threat and i don't want to harm you.

I had to kill the bad people and the monsters because you are the most important thing i know in this new world. carly will protect you, i think ben finally grew some balls and is now your guy (winks)

you must live clem....live for me....
    remember you family loves you....
and I love you too clem,

Clem, ..i haven't got long we're trapped ....the walkers have surrounded us.... ammo is low, i dropped my ....axe and kenny isn't doing so .....good, there's no way out...(window is broken) shit... Doug's down... damn i wish i'd saved carly now....ok i love you clem i'm sorry i couldn't fix your walkie or find you hat again... but i know you'll be ok ben has your back...(walkers break inside) sorry i gotta go clem i love you...(puts gun to temple, then the camera moves closer to show lee's face, gunshot is heard camera is dropped by lee) message ends...

I think Clem would deserve a video good bye, shot in a silent moment. The cam's gotta be good for something in the future.

Not sure I'd choose Clementine if I actually had to choose between her and Lee though. That would depend heavily on the situation.

I'm playing this game to experience the Hell World of The Walking Dead. If I wanted a Happy Ending, I WOULD NOT have bought this game. That would be stupid... I might not have read the Comics, but I've watched the show. If you think there's a happy ending to this you're dead wrong. If you're LUCKY it will be bittersweet.

But yeah, if I wanted to play a Zombie Game with a happy ending, I would have bought something else... I'm NOT in this for a happy ending. I'm in this for the setting, and as a fan of the show and genre... For those of you that disagree, take your hippie crap somewhere else.

Not all tragic endings end with a Company going under, or the game being shafted by the community. I present to you: Shadow of the Colossus. It's been claimed to be more than just a game, and proponents of the Idea that Game Developing is an art will bring this game up as proof of that. The ending made me cry, but I still love the game so much I'm aiming to purchase the remake for PS3.

Shadow of the Colossus had a plot?

    Really?

    Never noticed that.

also the woman comes to life takes the horned baby and the horse with a broken leg up to the paradise on the roof of the tower.

    how is that tragic?

I disagree with this entire thread aside from the possibility that Lee can leave Clem a posthumous video message with the simple sentence: "Stay lucky."

Clem will either certainly die or die in 60% of the possible endings.

    Because
the character himself never gets to see her revive
    he dies thinking
    Dormin betrayed him.
    .
As for the ending itself, it's really tragic when you consider this... Momo (the girl) looks suspiciously like
    the Villian
    from Ico, who's
hunting down and killing all of the horned Children to revive the power of Dormin for her own gain
    .

Essentially making SotC a Tragedy that gives birth to yet more Tragedy.

Never played Ico from what I heard that plot is barely coherent either. i played SOTC twenty times and never once knew it had a plot. I just thought it was a hell of a fun game humming the spiderman theme while climbing up some Colossus ass fur Good times.
But yeah, if I wanted to play a Zombie Game with a happy ending, I would have bought something else... I'm NOT in this for a happy ending. I'm in this for the setting, and as a fan of the show and genre... For those of you that disagree, take your hippie crap somewhere else.

Point A. What zombie game has a happy ending? Resident Evil gets progressively worse with each game. Left For Dead the "happiest" ending is you and your team get out of the level. From what i heard Mr. Greene isn't even looking for a Cure for his daughter in Dead Rising two he's just looking for medicine to treat her to keep her from turning.

Point B. I'm in this game for an experience to watch my choices and decisions unfold. Turning Clementine into another Larry/Shawn would be the stupidest shit ever. Just another chance for TTG to say "Your choices matter... not really we're just shitting on you" and no i don't mean the colloquialism "Shitting you" as I initially said. Forcing Clems death is like forcing the fans of Mass Effect three to bend over and kiss the Catalysts ass and choose red blue or green condom to get fucked with. Clementine dying as a potential outcome or Lee dying or both being potential is something i expect. [or i wouldn't have even made this thread] But when it becomes "But thou must" your fucking over GAMERS. Oh your giving the TWD Book Fans and TWD TV Show Fans exactly what they expect when they sit back and read the comics or watch the show. Those aren't interactive there is no "Text us to save your favorite character from being Walker Bait" {to my knowledge] I got TWDG as a game which being billed as a "your decisions matter" and right now the game seems to be turning into ."Your decisions matter if they piss kenny off or not". I mean like whats the point in saving shawn. Herschels not coming back and it seems highly unlikely we'll find someone whose kept in touch with him via HAM radio who either likes Lee or hates him depending on if he helped Shawn. and on the topic like I joke about in the meme thread and milo made "Shawn will remember that for the next five minutes" Although I like to believe Duck overheard Shawn and Lee's conversation and he's the one who remembered it. But the point being this thread was designed for writing goodbye messages under the assumption Clem survives but Lee dies.

The plot was absurdly simple... But it's the feel of it that makes it art. And IDK if it's "old" (Not even a decade gone by), I know A LOT of people still haven't played it.

L4D series were the games I had in mind, I haven't played Dead Rising though. Also, if you want to have fun Lolipop Chainsaw is always an excelent choice. XD

I'm not talking about forcing it, but I think at best you get a bitter sweet ending. (Example: Clem lives, but is dead inside or lee dies or something.)
Maybe YOU are ready for that, if so the rant about people holding out for a rainbows and unicorns ending doesn't concern you.

I'll agree SOTC is art. Plotwise you may call it absurdly simple but if you didn't have the manual the game or played Ico is fairly vague on whats going on you actually have to google it for the plot but who needs the plot with gameplay and graphics like that.

Left For Dead endings have never been happy just ask Bill. Dead rising is too depressing especially with the baby eating to invest any real time in. not sure about that Lolipop Chainsaw game not really interesting.

Also Clem doesn't need to be dead inside to survive.

Save the Girl you probably love, who you probably killed as well. Seemed simple enough to me. LOL :P

Lolipop Chainsaw is, basically, Candy Coated Catharsis, complete with Comedy, Mini Skirts, Fanservice, and Lampshade Hanging. It's a fun play, but it's really just mindless fun.

I was thinking have her live based on how you raised her. The tougher you made her the more likely she will be to make it, but the less likely she is to retain her innocence. Seems like the perfect ending if they want to stick true to the spirit of The Walking Dead. TBH I think it's where they're going, I've kinda been on the same wavelength as the Telltale writing staff... I knew Larry was gonna knock me down when he was standing at the door, I knew the Saint John's were Cannibals the moment they offered to take you to their farm and your group was considering it, I knew Jolene's daughter was probably raped before I saw the recording, I knew Larry was gonna have a heart attack as soon as the cut scene of the meat locker ended, Knew Lilly was going to have you hand out the food rations, etc, etc, etc. Just seems like they keep doing the things I'm expecting. LOL

Doug is being pulled by about 4 zombies on his main body, and Carley has one, with one hand and no legs, grabbing at her ankle. she dies with no ammo. Remove Carley's gun and she's useless, and there's only so much ammo in the world.

So that bloody Rabbit toy was Clementine's or Jolene's childhood toy she's kept with her all these years?

She expected the bandits took her daughter to the woods raped and murdered her and she fucked them {"I begged them every way i could think of"} to find out what happened to her daughter but they laughed at her so she killed them now she's waiting for her dead daughter even if it's a walker cause she'll come back one way or another.

This is the only conclusion I could come up with. I'm pretty sure the rabbit was Jolene's daughter's toy. Unless Clem could have picked it up from the 3 month time gap, there is no way it could have been her toy.

I suggest you do two things:
    1) Read what CapnJay said.
    2) replay that scene and look at the picture in the tent... She had a daughter, it's rather clear. (also, don't shoot her and play out some of the more questioning dialogue options.)

I took a jab at Mass Effect as well. I get pretty annoyed when I see similar arguments about possible endings and people expecting everything to end well. Everyone should know what to expect when you buy a product based on an established IP (TWD).

I agree with you about our decisions not really having weight, but it's still early in the story. Some of the decisions in the game that seem to limit choice I kinda like though. Like the decision to save Shawn or Duck. I liked how you were pretty much screwed either way. To each their own I suppose.

You mean you chose "brought up Lee's history of murder in front of the girl he's trying to protect" queen of social skills?

Doug is nice, and he is useful. I don't think we need to be judging people based upon what their lives were like before the zombie apocalypse, and I think Lee would be inclined to agree.
