iOS Deployment

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
So it looks like telltale is going to make the PC/XBOX/PS3 users wait longer for the next episode because of the early iOS development. I was under the impression that in previous games the iOS deployment came after the game was completly released on the PC.

I posted a remark on this back last month. I had a theory that the episodes were being delayed because telltale was working on IOS development instead of the next PC/XBOX/PS3 episode.

I noticed today that TWD episode 1 is availale in the apple store for 4.99.

It's just upsetting. I was not thinking it would take a year to play the entire game.

Sorry pal. I'm not a seasoned poster. Now that you point it out yes I see the quote button. What is with the capital letters? Kinda of reminds me of the soup guy screaming "No soup for you!".

It's far more likely that a different team is doing the iOS port than the original PC/console releases.

This is a direct quote from a article on TellTale Inc.

"In 2010, the company’s revenues totaled $10 million, increasing nearly 90 percent over the previous year. This year, revenues are expected to grow at the same pace, and the studio is expected to jump to 140 employees from 90. So far, it’s raised $6 million, and more is expected to close any day."

So let's say they have roughly anywhere from 90 to 160 employees. The company has some job listings on the net. Based on the salary scale they are not in the range of some other programming companies. Based on the company size I think the majority of their best programmers are doubling on the iOS and PC programming causing the long delay in the PC episodes.

CiscoKidd81, I'm sorry you're bummed! :( I don't have lots of information, but I know that the team of guys working on the iOS version of TWD is separate from the main Episode 3 crew.
